"Tehran's current Islamist regime is the international community's top sponsor of global terror, one of the worst human rights abusers and certainly the greatest threat to worldwide security"

Boycott Ahmadinejad’s address to UN conference, says B’nai Brith Canada

TORONTO, – B'nai Brith Canada has voiced its concern to the Canadian Government over Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's scheduled address at the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Brazil later this week. The Jewish human rights organization expects the leader will use this platform to attack Israel, America and the West, and is calling on the Canadian Government to take the lead in coordinating a wall-to-wall boycott of his address by Western democracies.

Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada, issued the following statement:
"Tehran's current Islamist regime is the international community's top sponsor of global terror, one of the worst human rights abusers and certainly the greatest threat to worldwide security. It is shameful that the United Nations repeatedly awards this brutal regime’s leader a podium to air his antisemitic, anti-Israel vitriol. If Ahmadinejad's past international appearances are any indication, we can expect a repeat performance from the Iranian president this week. We are calling on the Canadian Government to take the lead in a boycott of Ahmadinejad’s speech at the upcoming conference to register its opposition to his vile propaganda.”
