Braving Historical Fact Over Emotional Chains

The great sucking sound that you are hearing is not only your hard earned money being sucked up at a rate that is unprecedented, but it is also historical truth and the dangers that are associated with how this may be more destructive in the overall picture. For many years now generations of children have not been taught the factual truth and we have witnessed the results of adults not being able to tell fiction from truth as a result.

During the presidential campaign of 2008 we witnessed young adults displaying Che shirts in an attempt to represent revolution and solidarity to what was perceived as the coming wave of "Change and Hope". What so many of these young people did not fully comprehend was the fact that they were idolizing a mass murderer and associating it with the rise of Barrack Obama. I am not insinuating that President Obama is in any way in favor of the things that Che perpetrated. What I am pointing out is that our youth have been indoctrinated into believing in false history. We see this in so many subjects and issues and it is long overdue that factual history once again start being taught in our schools and that this same history is taught to the adult population as well. When we exempt fact for emotion, it allows for people to be willing led along like a flock of sheep. Propaganda has long been the tool to shape public opinion, but to make it truly effective you have to reshape the facts from what the message that is being pushed. One of the strategies that is employed is repeating a falsehood over and over until people cannot tell the difference any longer and it becomes embedded so deep that one cannot tell the truth from the created truth. Society today has fallen prey to a debilitating disease and that is short attention spans. We allow ourselves to get caught up in the events of the moment, but forget about what got us to this juncture. Part of this can be attributed to the way that we were taught in school to memorize things instead of looking deeper into the subject matter. The same can be said with how the vast majority of us get our news. We skim the facts, and rely on what the sound bites and 15 second video clips presented to us represent as the full body of the story. On these limited resources we are left to form our opinions and pass along the message that has been shaped for us. When you step outside of this box you immediately are targeted as a "trouble maker". This has been conditioned in us from our earliest days in school and on full display when you question the "accepted" norm and attempt to reintroduce the full story or the historical facts back into the debate. One example that can be cited is with those who want to tell the whole truth about the history of the Democrat Party, and the fact that its long history did not favor equal rights, nor was it the champion of civil rights. We have been led through propaganda and the repetitive message presented to us that it was and is. The dirty little secret of historical facts contradicts this long held belief. Just as we get told over and over again that the Republican Party is the party of the rich and those who want to keep people bound in chains of poverty. The factual truth tells a different story. In the long history of both party's much fiction has been written. With the fact that we have short attention spans and have fallen prey to propaganda tools, we have allowed for the bigger picture to go untold. I am not advocating for or against either party, but I am advocating that the historical facts to once again be taught to our children and reintroduced to our adult population. It is easy to become a victim of emotions, but it is much harder to seek the truth, as the truth may not fit the emotion. You and I can put a cap on that black hole that keeps sucking in the factual truth. To do so we have to brave the criticism and intimidation of those that may consider you a "troublemaker". The time has come that historical fact collects dust is over. You and I will have to take up the teaching role to the next generation. Those who want to shape our children in their own image that continues to propagate placing chains upon their future freedom have dug in their heels and have doubled down by revising the history that they find that does not fit their message. As for adults, we have to continue placing the truth and facts in front of them no matter the resistance. Most will not change, but others will start to see that over their lifetime that they have been led not by facts but by their emotions. Sheep we are not! Misinformed we have been! Those days are coming to a close! It is said that truth will set you free, but that truth can be painful once realized. We owe it to future generations to feel the pain today instead of always passing it off upon them. Let's break those chains and expose the truth of history so that no matter what side you favor, it will allow for all us to form an opinion not clouded by contrived messages.
