Seasoned election integrity leaders from around the country answered True the Vote’s call over the holiday weekend to come to Mississippi and assist in onsite absentee ballot application verification.
Thirteen election integrity organizations will join True the Vote and MS voters to help review the accuracy of absentee voting applications used in the primary runoff between U.S. Senator Thad Cochran and MS State Senator Chris McDaniel.
"Voters in Mississippi have the right to know that the will of the voters is accurately reflected by the outcome of their elections," True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht said. "For that reason, we’ve asked experienced election integrity leaders from other non-partisan, non-profit organizations to help us in our investigation. These leaders have a record of standing up for voters’ rights in their own states. Now we hope the experiences of these leaders will help Mississippi voters, as we work together to review election documents.” We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
