"None can love freedom heartily, but good men; the rest love not freedom, but license." - John Milton, "Tenure of Kings and Magistrates" At the end of this piece, I cite a thought-provoking presentation [a film preview] recently forwarded to me.

Please watch the preview with an open mind. Turn down the dramatic background music if you must. It suggests a vast, multi-stage plan for the transformation of American society into a state of servitude which we will no longer recognize. It was advocated by two, aged 1960s Leftists, Richard Plowen and Frances Fox Piven, and aptly called The Cloward-Piven Strategy. I found myself watching intently, but wanting to deny much of it. So, I watched skeptically. However, there are so many things within this presentation, about which I have already written, that I kept watching. You, yourself, may even have heard mention of Cloward -Piven on Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, or elsewhere. So what's my point? Just this: In military planning, if you are not willing to "consider the worst" in order to "protect the best," then you are not thinking correctly. One must necessarily consider "the worst" before one can fully contemplate all remedies to avoid disaster, plus any additional "bonus" remedies to further increase the health of our readiness and protections. So, I challenge you crawl out of that your comfort zone, and consider some points: 1. The world is divided into to two camps. a. Camp Slavery, the largest by far, is that camp/collection of societies controlled by overweening governments, tyrants, feudal lords, and extremist religious cults. In these states, freedom is a dream, an alien concept, or only a shadow on the wall. [see Plato's Allegory of the Cave.] Camp Slavery maintains control of its subjects ruthlessly, finding ever new ways to tantalize, inebriate and perpetuate apathy among its population [which it refers to as "the Masses"]. b. Camp Freedom, the smallest to be certain, is a vigilant and self-protective enclave of fiercely independent, patriotic, and freedom loving peoples who reject everything about Camp Slavery. In these states, slavery or involuntary servitude is properly viewed with abhorrence. Freemen in this camp will fight influences and incursions by those in Camp Slavery. Camp Freedom, however, has a flaw. A small minority within Camp Freedom believe that it is another's job to protect them and they have become distracted. They believe that their job and personal pursuits are too important, and besides, someone else is better suited to be a "Defender of Freedom." 2. Camp Slavery Leaders are always looking for ways to expand into and absorb a member state of Camp Freedom along with and their wealth so as to provide Tribute and Treasure. External Tribute and Treasure are necessary for Camp Slavery's perpetuation of control, as well as the Guardians' own privileged existence as the ultimate "Guardians of Rights." 3. Camp Freedom Citizens, the People, must expend a great deal of their Human and Material Treasure to defend their own continued existence, or to come to the aid of an Ally within their Camp, due to the predatory dangers emanating constantly from Camp Slavery. 4. The greatest ally of Camp Slavery is the "Right of Entitlement." This "Right" purports to end disenfranchisement, inequality and discrimination, but in reality creates a dismally egalitarian distribution of shortage, poverty, and involuntary Servitude to the State in order to pay for the "Right of Entitlement." Camp Slavery entices many into their camp via the "Right of Entitlement." It is a powerful inducement that seduces many to give up their freedom. 5. The greatest enemy of Camp Freedom is Apathy. But, the opportunity for a "Good Life" in Camp Freedom cuts two ways. Succeeding generations, if not properly instructed and reared, come to confuse the "Pursuit of Happiness" with Camp Slavery's "Right of Entitlement." Coupling that confusion with the aforementioned unwillingness by some to defend Camp Freedom, a dangerous situation arises. Camp Slavery is always on the prowl to devour a member from Camp Freedom in order to increase their power and to obtain treasure to fund their tyrannical regimes. 6. Thus, Countries who belong to Camp Freedom are always an endangered species. There is, however, a silver lining: Camp Slavery has a "Wiley E. Coyote Mindset," always relying on second-rate "Acme" equipment to do the job because second rate is all of which it is capable. This is a great weakness. Camp Freedom has a "Road Runner mindset," anticipating and successfully avoiding Wiley E. Coyote" traps and schemes because it has a free mind, ingenuity, agility of movement, and faith and confidence that it will can remain free. This is a great strength. The presentation, which I cite and hope you will watch, is valuable and informative and well put together. While you watch, as I hope you will, also ponder those wonderful Warner Brothers cartoon "Morality Plays." Crude as that analogy may be, I am convinced that as long as we plan for survival like the imperiled Road-Runner, ever keeping our wits about us, we will defeat The Cloward-Piven Strategy and all threats like it.
