There is substantive evidence linking members of the Liberal Party and their funding directly to members of China's United Front Work Department, which operates in tandem with the CCP and organized crime. On a number of occasions the RCMP have even interfered in DEA and FBI investigations into these groups, causing American agencies to question who the RCMP and Liberals are actually working for.

The US had a very credible fear that the CJNG cartel and El Mencho would be tipped off before the operation they chose to keep Canada in the dark.
