Canada’s Lunar Power Play

You know what Menken said about the "political class". His choice words included "dishonest, insane and intolerable". Is that the political class we want ruling Canada's Moon Colony and appointing "judges" to the Lunar Supreme Court? The so-called "ethics" of "The House (Which) Is Not A Home" (Nielsen title) is enough to gag any self-respecting #.

NASA announced its "Moon Design Contest" on Dec. 4/09, for those who "might live on the moon (and) could find themselves working at NASA as paid interns". Why not use journalism for a Moon Design Contest which would assist the social-political engineering of "paid interns" at a simulated Moon Colony in Canada? Suppose Canada builds its Moon Colony near the Lunar South Pole where there is a supply of two resources: light and ice. Imagine a dome above ground like that at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver. Above ground then you have a park, greenery, ponds and recreational facilities. Only limited time can be spent above ground because there is a danger of radiation sickness. The major habitat is below ground. Imagine then a below ground Canadian Moon City like an underground Vancouver shopping centre and the colonists are allowed time periods above ground within safety limits. Indeed, Lunar mining might be safest if done totally underground despite the fact that there is no overburden on the Moon surface. Tunneling machines can start at the underground habitat. Mining would be a major source of income with bullion ball exports blasted up the side of the Mountain of Eternal Light using a Montreal Super-Cannon. Mr. Flaherty can build a large pot of gold near the Peace Tower where bullion and precious stones from the Moon will land .... unless the gun's aiming goes awry. Come to think of it ..... since the circus can blast a clown out of a cannon, why not entertain Lunar citizens by combining this act with a display of rocket backpacks? We might even see those who get an F in social-political engineering class being sent back to Ottawa by cannon. A habitat like this could be built first in Stanistan where it would be an excellent tourist attraction but U.S.A. will send Ottawa huge amounts of money to NOT build such a project so why not just do it online as a journalism planning/theory contest put out to 3-4 billion global citizens who can text back to CTV by cell phone and computer? The winners get tickets which will pay for a space flight to Canada's Moon Colony. Anonymous
