Canada’s political reform movement needs a determined fighter as a leader

Canada's Political Reform is Well Underway: Poilievre As Leader!

Canada's Political Reform is Well Underway: Poilievre As Leader!Massive political reform needs some key things. The most important is the insult of harmful intrusions by government policies, which in running “forever” becomes “too much”. Resulting in relative hardship for ordinary folk, this is exacerbated by a recession. However, the painful hit will inspire reform and the movement in Canada will find a leader—which appears to be Pierre Poilievre—the probable winner of the Conservative leadership race.  Devastation of ordinary people by control freaks is nothing new. For some destruction has been open policy. Lenin was candid: “The way to crush the bourgeoise is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.” Disguised as policymaking, Ottawa’s chronically similar policies are supposed to be invisible.

The Freedom Convoy provoked as much in Ottawa

Both Trudeau and the equally competent Biden wanted high gasoline prices in order to force folks to buy very expensive electric cars. Moreover, inflation has always been state theft. Transfer payments from those who earn to provinces that don’t are contrived as “equalization”, never as confiscation, There is a lot of hatred in most of government objectives, perhaps due to the middle classes not sharing the passionate visions of the intruders. Intellectuals in the 1840s in Paris coffee shops were full of it, especially for the “petite” bourgeoise. Whether called an essentially unspellable word or described as the middle classes, unrelenting drive by central planners has confiscated unprecedented power as well as the earnings and savings from the people. Which history shows will go on until reformers become highly motivated and say “Enough!” As this has occurred in the States, the Left has been in a non-stop tantrum. The Freedom Convoy provoked as much in Ottawa. The financial and economic world has been in the greatest financial bubble—ever. This has been accompanied by an equally reckless bubble in crazy politics. That each side thinks the other is crazy has been impartially adjudicated. Freedom and prosperity go together while hardship right down to poverty goes with authoritarianism.

As with his predecessor Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Justin has been beguiled by socialism

It’s been a long-running rule. With Trump as its leader, America’s reform movement has been advancing against the Swamp in DC. That the Swamp in Ottawa is frozen for half the year makes it no less revolting. However, January’s “Freedom Convoy” took the message to Ottawa in a manner that could not be ignored by the powers that be. Regrettably, too many there may not understand freedom, but it was celebrated by many around the world. Which compares to Trudeau’s personal imposition of what used to be called the “War Measures Act” whereby so many Canadians with a regard for freedom were condemned as “Nazis”. When you resort to that canard you have lost the debate. Describing those who admire freedom and less government as “Nazis” shows a remarkable lack of judgment. Despite Trudeau's posturing, police forces did not request the special “Measure”, a blunder that could eventually collapse his minority government. The media and many politicians in England and Europe rightly condemned Trudeau’s brutal intrusion. As with his predecessor Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Justin has been beguiled by socialism and has stated his admiration for Communist China’s central planning.

Remarkable change in Canadian politics

Which represents a remarkable change in Canadian politics. It was not so long ago when the Liberals would propose popular policies in order to win a general election. But this would place power back into the hands of “we the people” and the Prime Minister’s Office is not going to allow that. Verboten! Imposing unpopular policies such as COVID mandates as well as condemning oil and gas production requires a lot of force. And what’s more when authoritarians are on a roll—they never quit—never. However, the final maniacal thrust has been “funded” through radical inflation, which propels equally radical financial speculation that ultimately crashes.  Dramatically collapsing the economy will also trash the invidious control freaks without borders movement. Both tax revenues and wealth confiscation through inflation plunge during a deflationary contraction. And this where history is now: a radical financial boom is collapsing, and consequent popular dissatisfactions could bring down authoritarian governments around the world—including Canada.

The Freedom Convoy was truly a magnificent event

The Freedom Convoy was truly a magnificent event that has been followed by a growing number of Canadians across the country wearing flag lapel pins or driving vehicles displaying flags. So far quietly building a base for popular reform. Christians were instrumental in reforming Rome when it had been corrupted into a brutal police state. A unifying image was the “sign of the fish”. Now it is flags on lapels and on pickup trucks. The 1980s recorded a massive reform movement, with leaders such as Lech Walesa, Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. The latter struck fear into America’s “liberal” establishment. He was a “cowboy” and worse “not one of us”. His policy about authoritarianism was shocking but simple: “We win, and they lose”. The US conservative movement is through the Republican Party, but it still includes an establishment resistant to reform. And they are called “RINOs”—Republican In Name Only. Of course, the Conservative Party suffers from too many “CINOs” and it will take an inspired leader to reform that corrupt side of the party while inspiring the electorate to reform Ottawa—the Swamp frozen in time. Recently there was a rally for Pierre Poilievre in Vancouver. The hall has a capacity of a thousand and being full there was standing room only into the street.  A remarkable turn out for a leadership candidate in Canada. This writer has been aware of politics in Canada, England and the US since around 1968. Poilievre’s grasp and explanations of today’s realpolitik, as well as his dedication makes him the most compelling conservative political leader since Ronald Reagan. Canada’s political reform movement needs a determined fighter as a leader.
