Canadian Bank Run

As pointed out in the video, Canadian Banks were offline yesterday. CFP wanted to ascertain if this was widespread or not, so we found a website resource called DownDetector.ca. Of the four major banks yesterday, they all experienced an outage--all at the same time. From roughly 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. the banks experienced the outages.

RBC was hit the hardest with roughly 60,000 reported outages. BMO maybe 500 outages, CIBC around 500 outages as well. TD had a more prolonged outage window of about 12 hours. with again maybe 500-600 outages No one would have wanted his to happen to them. We do not know if this is the normal, for it is the first time we took the time to check out available resources.
