Canadian church arsons will be investigated by veteran fire marshal

Glenn Baxter has been appointed by The Democracy Fund to conduct an independent analysis of church arsons in Canada over the past six years

A Canadian democracy group has hired a veteran fire investigator to look into the recent massive wave of arson attacks on Canadian churches over the past six years, with the goal being to provide his expert analysis on the incidents.

In a statement posted October 15, The Democracy Fund (TDF) said they have chosen Glenn Baxter to lead the investigation into church and synagogue arsons. Baxter is currently serving as a fire marshal for a large Canadian fire department. According to the TDF, he has served in many communities in various roles from firefighter to fire chief.

β€œIn order to determine if the intensity and frequency is increasing and the reasons for this change, we must first ensure the origin and cause determination is made, and resultant actions have been pursued,” said Baxter.

β€œI am hopeful that the data and the information available from the historical records can bring forward clarity and recommendations to address the change.”

Baxter has conducted well over 350 investigations, for all types of fires, from cars to houses, to commercial fires, and even explosions. He holds numerous professional certifications and is also a certified master electrician. ---More...
