Capitol Police officer who shot Ashli Babbitt cleared in internal probe

An internal Capitol Police memo states that "no further action will be taken" after the officer who fatally shot Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt was "formally exonerated" for use of force, according to department documents obtained by NBC News. The unnamed officer in question who killed Babbitt outside a door of the Capitol building during the Jan. 6 riot has been formally exonerated after an internal investigation, the department memo revealed Friday.
