"A popular government without popular information or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce, or a tragedy, or perhaps both." - James Madison Two major events last week strike me as one of the great weeks in American History; the election of Scott Brown (R-MA) to what the Democrats considered their "ultra-safe Kennedy seat" in the Senate and the Supreme Court's decision affirming the proposition that free speech applies to the speech not speaker and therefore can not be stifled.

Two of the watch dogs of freedom and liberty the Voters and the Supreme Court finally spoke up. In the Citizens United versus the Federal Election Committee and said not so fast! "We are having none of it." As astonishingly: Ditto the voters of Massachusetts. It is as though our Founding Fathers awoke from their perpetual sleep and sent a lightning bolt to rebuff the Progressive Left's relentless plan to destroy their Great Work --Federalism. Make no mistake; the Progressive Left is still within an eyelash of accomplishing their ultimate goal --Consolidation - That is the collapse of Federalism by bankrupting and destroying the States. This is the Progressives' goal begun under Theodore Roosevelt, amplified by Woodrow Wilson's collapse of the Senate's direct responsibility to the States, solidified by FDR's New Deal, surreptitiously promoted by Carter and Clinton and blatantly pursued under Obama. "Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government." - James Madison This was a week that we will look back on with the same stunned amazement that we had when the Berlin Wall came crashing down. Many of us never thought we would see that in our lifetimes. We can only view this combination of events as yet another of America's second chances. Conservative Americans, those who have ratified the Constitution internally, must now seize the day and build on it. To do this we must ask the simple question: Who is the biggest loser in the Supreme Court's decision in the Citizens United's victory over restricted speech? It is John McCain.

It is not hyperbole to compare John McCain to Benedict Arnold except hat Arnold was a much better military tactician than McCain. Benedict Arnold was one of the most revered soldiers of the Revolution, next to Washington, yet he betrayed his country in a fit of rage over perceived slights by Washington and Congress. (Read this biography of Arnold, you may see other parallels with McCain.) Consider the following paragraph from the Declaration of Independence: "The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world." Is it not fair to consider the following charges against Senator John McCain on the basis of positions he has taken during his political career? Here is the Conservative's case against john McCain's re-election: John McCain was one the two principle architects of McCain/Feingold (aka The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002) or as I like to call it the Incumbent Protection Act of 2002, a full frontal assault on the First Amendment; as the Court partially reversed. John McCain has almost singlehandedly destroyed the effectiveness of the CIA's interrogation program of High value Islamic terrorist detainees at the Prisoner of War Camp at Guantanimo Bay, Cuba. McCain did this under the rubric of comparing waterboarding to the treatment he received at the hands of the North Vietnamese. John McCain has subverted conservative causes as he has repeatedly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Remember McCain and his Gang of Fourteen? The Supreme Court and the Federal Appellate Courts would have a much more "Originalist View" without McCain's interference. John McCain has embraced the destruction of our sovereignty by his championing of Illegal Immigration and amnesty for the perpetrators of that assault. McCain-Kennedy Bill: S 1033 John McCain has embraced the hoax known as Man Made Global Warming; attempting to codify further limitations of our liberty by McCain/Lieberman: The Climate Stewardship and Innovation Act of 2005 (S.1151) John McCain almost picked Liberal Democrat Joseph Lieberman as his Vice Presidential running mate. John McCain seriously considered being John f. Kerry's running mate. John McCain has voted against the "Bush" tax cuts more than once, voted for amendments to keep the death tax alive, and along with Governor Pawlenty calls huge tobacco tax increases "fees". John McCain has stated he would vote for the international anti-sovereignty Treaty of The Seas. This agreement would give an international body the jurisdiction to dictate naval forces movement, oceanic weapons, technology testing and set and collect fees and divide rights and royalties to all energy resources found and recovered at sea in current international waters. How do you think Iran would vote for our right to traverse the Persian Gulf? John McCain supported gun control measures with rules that would have effectively shut down gun shows and gun sales between private parties. John McCain teamed with Andrew McKelvey's Handgun Control Inc. spinoff called "Americans for Gun Safety". John McCain founded in 2001, the Reform Institute as a vehicle to receive funding from the Soros' Open Society Institute, Teresa Heinz Kerry's Tides Foundation and several other prominent progressive organizations. John McCain used the Reform Institute to promote his agenda and to fund key political operatives between elections In light of the great Conservative strides made last week, my questions are: Why would Scott Brown (R-MA) diminish his great achievement and sabotage his credibility by aligning himself with the political agenda of John McCain? Why would Sarah Palin, who has proven herself to be the most charismatic Conservative Republican politician, campaign for the re-election of John McCain? "A man wrapped up in himself makes a very small bundle." - Benjamin Franklin Loyalty is a two way street, isn't it? There is a clear Conservative alternative: J.D. Hayworth. Seize the Day!
