United Way is partnering with Young Invincibles, Get Covered America, the American Cancer Society, and others to promote National Youth Enrollment Day, Saturday, February 15. United Ways from Passaic County, New Jersey, to Salina, Kansas to Ventura, California, are engaging their United Way Emerging Leaders and Student United Way groups to spread the word and help young people enroll. United Way knows that Americans are more financially secure and have greater peace of mind when they are covered with health insurance. Health insurance enables folks to access the care they need when they need it, and it protects them from personal bankruptcy in the event of serious illness or injury.
HealthCare.gov will be out of service for two and a half days beginning on Feb. 15 — the last day people can sign up to obtain coverage that begins on March 1. The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services announced in a blog post on Monday that the ObamaCare website would be lacking some enrollment functionalities so the Social Security Administration can conduct its annual systems maintenance activities. The site will be out of order from 3 p.m. on Feb. 15 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday — a period that coincides with the long holiday weekend. Those seeking coverage by March 1 must have signed up online by Feb. 15, but with the website maintenance, those registering at the last minute won't be able to find out what plans or subsidies they qualify for.Yeah, you read that right. Not only are they going to torpedo National Youth Enrollment Day, they're also going to put a serious crimp in the Feb 15th enrollment deadline. Why, it's almost as if theywantObamaCare to fail so that they can replace it with something else! We'd like to congratulate the Obama administration for - once again - failing the American people in the most embarrassing ways possible. Seriously. Don't these people evertalkto each other?
