Ford did nothing wrong. A person should never be forced to reinforce another person’s mental illness

Chili’s has had many mottos throughout the years, but the one that has stayed with them is “Like No Place Else.” That may have been true in the past, but regrettably, the restaurant chain has joined the list of woke institutions that violate one person’s rights in order to defend the fallacy of another’s ridiculous whims.
An employee at a Chili’s in Louisiana was fired for referring to a co-worker by her legal name instead of her preferred name, "Fish." Wesley Kirk Ford Jr. filmed the incident, and the video has gone viral. In the clip, Ford is seen standing behind a man at a computer who is reading from the termination notice explaining the reasons for the dismissal. According to the notice and Ford's later posts, he was "fired for calling a nonbinary coworker by her legal government-issued name."
In the audio, the man reads, "Violation of the harassment and non-inclusion policy. Discrimination slash harassment. That's what it's titled."
He then continues reading the document, which states that because Ford allegedly continued to call the worker by their government-issued name rather than her chosen name "Fish" and did not use they/them pronouns, the worker was unable to continue their shift.
Ford can be heard laughing in disbelief before clarifying the situation to management. "She was physically unable to continue her shift because I called her Madeline four times."

In another clip, Ford shared a screenshot of the alleged violation notice that management issued and told viewers, "I've never been fired from a job before… never been asked to quit." In addition to finding a new job, he mentioned that he is looking to hire a civil rights attorney because he is not willing to let this situation go without action. To clarify, Ford stated that he worked at a Chili's in Denham Springs.
Chili’s claims that using the person's legal name constitutes harassment. A spokesperson for the chain told Fox News Digital:
In these situations, the radical left demonstrates exactly how brain-dead they are when it comes to human rights. Just because some selfish narcissist decides she wants to be called an idiotic name does not mean other people have to play her mindless games.
Chili’s trampled on Ford’s rights, and for what? Because some ignorant egocentric got her feelings hurt? This snowflake actually claimed she couldn’t finish her shift because she had been called by her legal name.
I was a manager at a major corporation for several decades, and obviously, during that time, I hired and fired many people. I can honestly say that if I ever found myself in that situation, Ford would not have been fired, and I would have had a serious conversation with the other person involved about whether they wanted to continue working there.
Ford did nothing wrong. A person should never be forced to reinforce another person’s mental illness, and that’s exactly what Chili’s is doing by accommodating and encouraging this madness.
“Like No Place Else” may be a clever motto, but Chili’s is now just another organization that can’t tell the difference between right and wrong.
