Christians Need To Face The Reality of This Election

As most polls now show Donald Trump surging as Kamala Harris drops, rhetoric about Harris Campaign “vibes” of “joy” are past. From the alleged “positive” start, we are all seeing aggressively negative speeches by Harris as she enters the last weeks before the election. Sadly, this goes beyond slamming Trump, to attacks on others including Christians. At the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, two young Christians felt the fury of the vice president and her campaign for openly voicing support for Jesus Christ. With the stress of these last weeks of the campaign, the candidates’ masks are coming off and we are catching a window to their souls. The incident with the Christians is telling, as it fits with Kamala’s past and what we can expect If she were President.

So what happened? The two Christian university students, Grant Beth and Luke Polaske, attended a Harris rally. They claim, they were “there for the right reasons” to ensure a Christian voice about the issue of life. When Harris started promoting abortion, the two exclaimed “Christ is King” and “Jesus is Lord”, not in a rude or obnoxious manner but enough to be heard. As the crowd was nearly unanimous in their acclaim of abortion rights, Harris could have ignored Grant and Luke. Instead, she called them out by yelling “You guys are at the wrong rally I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street.” Then Harris supporters and campaign became aggressive “I was pushed by an elderly woman. We were heckled at, we were cursed at, we were mocked, and that’s the biggest thing for me personally,” Beth said. “In reflection of the event, Jesus was mocked. You know, his disciples were mocked, and that’s OK.” (Source)

When she was Attorney General of California, Harris showed a similar distain for pro-life Christians. Pro-life activist David Daleiden investigated Planned Parenthood for an alleged illegal body-part business. Fruits of this investigation included video and other such evidence. As noted by the Washington Examiner “In retaliation, and instead of investigating Planned Parenthood’s body-part business, Harris brought frivolous charges against the whistleblower who exposed the gruesome business.

The charges were ultimately tossed out.” (Source) As a top member of the Biden administration, Harris has supported using the controversial “FACE” act to unfairly target pro-life Christians who have peacefully protested abortion. Early this year, the Washington Examiner wrote of it: “Six anti-abortion protesters were found guilty by a federal jury in Nashville last week of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act and “conspiracy against rights” — both felony charges. They were prosecuted by the Justice Department after they sang hymns and prayed in the hallway of a Tennessee abortion clinic. One of the protesters, Paul Vaughn, was arrested at his house days later by the FBI in front of his wife and 11 children.”(Source) Having defended pro-lifers in Court, I can attest to the virtual terrorism against pro-life Christians under Harris/Biden particularly since the Dobbs decision.

The National Review wrote this about the Harris mistreatment of Christians “The Knights of Columbus was not the only large religious charity Harris singled out. Eighth Circuit nominee Jonathan Kobes’ membership on the board of Bethany Christian Services, a non-profit dedicated to helping vulnerable children and families, triggered additional irrelevant questions. Of the group’s practice not to certify same-sex couples for foster care, she grilled Kobes on his awareness and opinion of Bethany’s policy and whether he had advised, advocated, or assisted Bethany on its policy. 

On another front, Kobes had made fairly obvious observations in an interview about changing “religious participation levels in the cities as opposed to the smaller towns’ and ‘traditional conservative ideas on the family’ that ‘have gone out’ over a short time, as reflected in the chronology of President Obama’s changing position on same-sex marriage.

This prompted Harris to ask yet another nominee: ‘Do you believe that judges may consider their personal religious views when evaluating cases before the court?’ This pattern of questioning shows Harris to be a rigid ideologue her conduct fed into the anti-Catholic and anti-evangelical sentiment….. her inability to set aside a political agenda to do her duty should be cause for concern.” (Source) In 2018, then Senator Harris was lead sponsor and introduced the “Do No Harm Act” which has been described as “a bill aimed at gutting the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFTA), a landmark, bipartisan 1993 law that remains one of the most important federal safeguards for religious Americans…. RFTA ensures religious American have an opportunity to seek court relief when their religious freedom is violated. Harris’s (Do No Harm Act) would have taken away that core protection.” (Source)

It’s time for Christians and other religious Americans to take note of this reality. Vice President Harris has shown us through her past actions and now by open distain: Her “vibe” of “joy” does not extend to sincere Christians, particularly pro-lifers. Alexis de Tocqueville wrote of America in the 1830s “there is no country on Earth in which the Christian religion holds greater sway over the souls of men than in America.” It’s time again for America to again be that Godly country that truly is the bright shining city on a hill.
