Chuck Schumer demands GOP delay tax bill until Doug Jones is around to help kill it

Chuck Schumer demands GOP delay tax bill until Doug Jones is around to help kill it As Dan told you earlier, Republicans have reached a deal on the tax bill. We still don't know all the details, but they have - in principle at least - agreed on a basic framework. You can read what we know HERE and obviously we'll update when we get more info. For now, just know this. Things are allegedly moving forward.

Schumer is demanding that Republicans delay the tax vote until Doug Jones takes his seat

That has Chuck Schumer upset. You see, Chuck is excited that we're about to seat a new Democrat Senator from Alabama. As we were discussing behind the scenes here at 'the Cain,' once Doug Jones is in office it will make RINOs like Collins, Murkowski and McCain even more powerful and frustrating. Everything will be just that much more difficult to pass, and that makes Schumer grin like the Cheshire Cat. So, in an effort to throw one last wrench in the works, Schumer is demanding that Republicans delay the tax vote until Doug Jones takes his seat. As he puts it: “It would be wrong for Senate Republicans to jam through this tax bill without giving the newly elected senator from Alabama a chance to cast his vote.”

Mitch McConnell and the Senate GOP ...Failure is always an option

Anyone out there actually believe that Schumer and his despicable cronies genuinely care about what's "fair" or "wrong?" Of course not. This is the kind of sleazy cigar-chomping political move that Schumer loves - and excels at. The good news is that the absolute earliest that Jones can be seated is December 27th. That's two full weeks from now - a substantial delay, particularly for a bill that everyone in D.C. is hoping to have wrapped up before Christmas. One would hope that the GOP, which should be absolutely panicked by the idea of another epic failure, will be able to get its act together in short order. That should be possible, especially if the information about the House and Senate reaching an agreement is true. That said, this is Mitch McConnell and the Senate GOP we're talking about. ...Failure is always an option. If you want tax reform to happen, now's the time to get on those phones.
