Civilization and Abortion

Civilization and AbortionAs a Christian, the statistics used in a recent article I cited in a CFP article, have been troubling me ever since. In the last 48 years nearly 62 million abortions have been committed in the United States alone. I contrasted that with the fact than in 250 years, America has lost less than 2 million military personnel in all the wars we have ever fought. That seems to suggest, it is riskier to be an unborn human being in America than a professional military person.

I ask all devout Christians to examine their moral values

One other aspect that is rarely, if ever, talked about is the children and grandchildren that these 62 million aborted human beings might have produced. The lost potential of these human beings “that never were” is mind boggling. Sadly, it is the arrogant, egotistical elitists that were not aborted that are calling the shots about abortion. If I understand correctly, the official position of the Catholic Church is that abortion is not only an abomination, it is a sin. Yet, in America today there are high profile people, who call themselves devout Catholics, such as Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, who publicly endorse and insist on American’s tax dollars being spent to fund abortions all over the world. What kind of devout Catholic is that? For that matter, what kind of Christian is that? Their behavior seems to support the goals of Satan rather than Jesus Christ and Mother Mary. Am I wrong here? I ask all devout Christians to examine their moral values, assess the above statistic, and to clarify your own position about the excessive number of abortions that are occurring in America, even as you read this article. For the last 48 years, the average number of abortions in America each day is more than 3,500. Are you really alright with that? Are you alright funding abortion with your tax money? Are you alright requiring other taxpayers who oppose abortion being forced to have their tax dollars spent funding worldwide abortions? Do you feel good supporting politicians that force these requirements on all Americans? How can the same world that was shocked and horrified about the genocide of 6,000,000 people by the Germans in World War II, remain quietly complicit in the genocide of 63,000,000 unborn American citizens in 2021? Has our civilization really degenerated to this degree of uncaring? Or is genocide a good thing when it fits the Marxist Democrat political agenda?

21 Century Bystanders Credo

• First they came for the unborn, and not enough people spoke for them. • Now they are coming for their political opponents. Are we going to speak for them? • Then they will come for the unproductive elderly. Will someone speak for them, if they are not elderly? • Then they will come for the mentally ill. Will someone speak for them, if they are not mentally ill? • Then they will come for the unproductive handicapped. Will someone speak for them, if they are not handicapped? • Then they will come for Christians and Jews. Will someone speak for them, if they are not a Christian or Jew? • Then they will come for the last of their perceived opponents. Then there will be nobody left to speak for them.
Many Christians view abortion as the most barbaric practice in which a, supposedly civilized, society could possibly engage. Do you feel good about this practice? If not, it is time to speak up. Civilization is such a fragile commodity.
