Van Jones, the avowed communist who is one of the chief authors of Obama’s oh so successful stimulus package, has entered into a war of words with Fox’s Glen Beck. Beck hosts the number 3 talk show in the nation and also one of the most popular, and growing in popularity, television opinion and news broadcasts. Suffice it to say that he wouldn’t even be allowed to mop the floors at NBC or CBS.
In response to the President’s call to “hit back twice as hard” at any who oppose Obama’s plans for this country (read: destroy from within), Jones put together an organization called, Color of Change to headline an advertiser boycott of Beck’s shows. The reason for this? “Gasp”, Beck indicated that he thought Obama had “problems” with the white race and culture. This is news??? Next he’ll broadcast that he thinks the sky is blue. Of course Obama has a problem with the race he considers the oppressive majority. So does his wife. Of course our president is a racist. Good grief! Was this revelation a complete surprise to Jones?
No, a confirmed racist himself, Jones simply wants to crush someone he considers a danger to the cause. Glen Beck’s shows command an audience in the multiple millions and every member of that audience will probably vote in the next election. Beck uses parody, humor and tug-at-the-heart sophistry to make his points and it is incredibly effective. This makes him even more dangerous than the average blogger.
If you go to the Color of Change website, (colorofchange.org) you will see that is isn’t only Obama with the “deep-seated hatred” of whites. The site itself is loaded with racist language and condemnation of any who disagree with the communist/socialist cause. They even claim that Beck’s tone is so vile that he should lose his First Amendment rights. “Be removed from the air” is liberalspeak for that process.
Well, at first it appeared that Jones’ tactic was gathering steam. A number of very large companies announced they had pulled or would be pulling their ads from the Glen Beck broadcast. Beck even had to employ bodyguards for both himself and his family. Remember that black conservative attacked by some of Obama’s thugs? The people our President surrounds himself with don’t just use words to make a point, and I am not talking about the Secret Service. So, ruin the enemy economically. Make his family hide in fear. Spread lies about his character and what he says until they are taken as truth. Jones pulled out every stop in his campaign against Glen Beck, and it looked like he had won. NOT!!
DefendGlenn.com, was started on July 16th by Beck supporter John Hill. Shortly after launch the site had over two million hits and those companies listed on Color of Change began rapidly backpedaling, so much for the power of communism. One of the chief complaints against Beck was a parody spot where he insisted that a cardboard cutout of Nancy Pelosi drink her wine. Obviously, no wine was drunk. Beck chuckled and said something like, “I really appreciate being invited to your fundraiser. I thought only big supporters got invites…which I’m not. By the way I put poison in your…no.” And he went on into policy discussions with the cutout. As is typical with the liberals they took this as Beck threatening Pelosi with poisoning, which he was not. Obviously the skit included a reference as to the type of distrust people like Nancy Pelosi hold conservatives. He was illustrating the reason why she would not drink the wine, not what he would have done to it. Check out the video on the DefendGlen site. My take of what went on in that skit is right and every liberal interpretation is absolutely wrong. What is really funny is that the Sargento Cheese rep insists on following the liberal take. There are plenty other cheese companies out there folks.
This is typical of the Obama administration and the liberal left. The first amendment only applies to those who support the socialist, politically correct agenda. Remember the flack when a nordic cartoonist depicted Mohamed with a bomb in his turban? We’re getting there.
