Community Organizers Attack Israel

In case you missed it the last few thousand times, it goes like this: use civilians to bait Israel into having to act in self defense. Then squeal like stuck pigs when Israel finally gets fed up and uses force to defend herself.

Hamas uses civilians the same way liberals use “the children”—as cannon fodder. Israel and Egypt have imposed a blockade of Gaza to prevent weapons from reaching the jihadists who keep attacking Israeli civilians. Despite what the Jurassic media claims, humanitarian relief is delivered to Gaza from Israel on a daily basis:

During the first three months of this year, 94,500 tons of supplies were transferred to Gaza from Israel, including 48,000 tons of food products; 40,000 tons of wheat; 2,760 tons of rice; 1,987 tons of clothes and footwear; and 553 tons of milk powder and baby food for the strip’s 1.5 million inhabitants. Representatives of international aid groups and the United Nations move freely to and from the Gaza Strip.

Upon learning that the anti-Israel community organizer flotilla planned to crash the blockade, Israel directed the agitators to deliver their humanitarian aid to an Israeli port where it could be properly inspected for weapons before heading on to Gaza which they defied; thus creating what the jihadi community calls a win-win for the bad guys:

‘There are two possible happy endings,’ a Muslim activist on board explained, ‘either we will reach Gaza or we will achieve martyrdom.’

Unfortunately for the martyrdom seekers in the group, the Israelis used their traditional restraint, defending themselves with paint ball guns. When the “peace activists” attacked Israeli commandos with metal poles, knives and baseball bats, permission was granted via the chain of command to employ deadly force. The “peace activists” carried quite an arsenal of weapons. The Turkish IHH who organized the flotilla of fundamentalism knew they would never make it to Israeli waters, having been banned since 2008 for its ties to terrorism finance. Melanie Phillips provides some background on those IHH peaceniks:

The notion – uncritically swallowed by the lazy, ignorant and bigoted BBC and other western media – that the flotilla organizers are ‘peace activists’ is simply ludicrous. This research by the Danish Institute for International Studies details the part played by the IHH in Islamist terror in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Chechnya. According to the French magistrate Jean-Louis Bruguiere testifying at the Seattle trial of would-be al Qaeda Millenium bomber Ahmed Ressamin, the IHH had played ‘[a]n important role’ in the al Qaeda Millenium bomb plot targeting Los Angeles airport. It was also involved in weapons trafficking, and played in addition a key role in galvanizing anti-Western sentiment among Turkish Muslims in the lead-up to the 2003 war in Iraq. ‘Peace activists’ these people most certainly are not.

On Monday, Obama told Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he had better “get the facts” about the incident. This would be the same Obama who felt no need for facts before condemning a Cambridge police officer. Nor did he trouble himself with facts before declaring a fatwa on Arizona for enacting an anti -illegal immigration law. If there is a silver lining, it would be that Netanyahu found an excuse to cancel his friendly photo op meeting at the White House. Obama, suddenly struck by the realization that American Jews may finally be peeling off, needs to look slightly less anti-Israel before November. The current leader of the free world, Prime Minister Netanyahu is probably not in the mood to be lectured by a know nothing little puissant. As always, the media is outraged that Israel has, yet again, been forced to defend herself. Mona Charen, correctly calls out the media for their relentless pro-terrorism posturing:

Some commentators sympathetic to Israel complain that the Israelis were late getting their explanation of events to the press. That’s probably true, but almost irrelevant. There is a jerking of knees around the world whenever and wherever Israel is forced to defend itself. This eagerness to repeat the Palestinian version of events, to assume the very worst about Israel, and to ignore the history of blatant and outrageous lies by Israel’s enemies — amounts to joining them.
