Confused Priorities in Mexico

Given the rampant poverty that is Mexico, one would expect Mexican government authorities to use public funds prudently and with caution. However, that does not appear to be the case in Mexico City where Mayor Marcelo Ebrard says that his government will start handing out doses of one or two Viagra, Levitra or Cialis pills on Dec. 1. ** These medications will be issued, free of charge, to impotent men, 70 years and older, of which it is estimated there are 112,000 in Mexico City. According to Mayor Ebrard, the city is implementing the plan because sexuality "has a lot to do with quality of life and our happiness." No one can quibble with that, your honor. However, housing, food, education, and medical care are also vital to the quality of life and happiness. Is Mexico City fully meeting the needs of it's citizens in those areas, sir? Of course, it is really none of America's business how Mexico City, or any other Mexican city, uses public funds to serve it's citizens, EXCEPT for the fact that hundreds of thousands of Mexican citizens come to America illegally every year and partake of public services paid for by American taxpayers and intended for American citizens. Why in the world should American taxpayers be responsible for providing essentials to Mexicans who are here illegally, while the Mexican government concerns itself with the sexual fulfillment of impotent men, aged 70 and over?
