Think Republican Party officials are closet liberal Dems

Conservatives Must Step Up to the Plate

I just read a blog, written by Eric Florack of PajamasMedia.com, in which he details a lot of the mixed feelings on the Republican Party that surfaced at the CPAC conference held last weekend. I hear you, Eric and agree totally. And I also think the Republican Party officials are closet liberal Dems. Someone said recently that their stupid actions are almost certain to signal the end of the Republican Party in this country.

And I say, "It can't come soon enough."   There's no question that the conservatives will never control the Republican party; NEVER!.  Even though I am convinced that they outnumber the ones who are definitely not REAL conservatives, like McCain, as they are tired and flawed Republicans.   I keep hearing this and yet I don't ever hear from conservatives, "Let's take over the party and insist that the conservative standards be enforced."  Why is that?  Why are they so reluctant to take charge of a faltering party?   Why doesn't some conservative leader conduct a “Yes” or “No” survey asking all those who claim to be Republicans if they consider themselves to be conservative Republicans; would they join in creating a new party called the Conservatives of America Party; a party that would expel all RINOs and those who would refuse to swear they would uphold the Conservative Party principles?    If the results show what I feel they would, i.e, an overwhelming majority in favor of a new Conservative Party, it would give the conservatives the upper hand and force people in or out as the case might be.  If we continue as we are right now, 2010 is lost.      We conservatives are not going to change some of the big government Republicans who become Democrats on the most crucial votes that harm our country, so let's move on without them.  I do believe they would be in a very distinct minority, probably less than a dozen.  Some would easily morph into the liberal Democrats that they cowardly will not admit to being, while others would timidly agree to join the conservatives and move ahead.   To my way of thinking, this "put it on the table" position would attract a good number of Democrats who now are reluctant to speak out against their socialist/liberal leaders in fear of losing ground within their party. Many of the "Blue Dogs" would gladly come across the aisle and mingle with others of a same mind and philosophy.  I don't think there would be any great losses from what we have now.   I have run into and have known a lot of Democrats that are conservatives in their thinking and voting, but they refuse to change parties because in their minds the name "Republican" connotes bad vibes for them and they just can't do it.   As an example, my family of eight including six children was a rabid Irish Catholic Democrat family (liberal wasn't used at the time, but that's what they were) in my youth. I was the youngest and got to see all the jockeying around the truth that was the norm on all issues. If FDR was for it, then it had to be that way.  I learned at a young age that I did not want to be a Democrat.  I had the same revulsion to that word/title as most of those I spoke of in the preceding paragraph. When I reached voting age I made it official.   We have got some excellent young, intelligent and enthusiastic new leaders coming along such as Governor Sarah Palin, Senator Jim DeMint, Governors Mark Sanford, Jim Pawlenty and Bobby Jindal, Congressmen Pence, Shaddegg and Flake, just to name a few.    These people have shown their true conservative colors battling liberal Democrats and phony Republicans in the national political arena.  They understand what pure American grit is and they continue to show it on a daily basis.  They will be this country’s leaders of the future.   I believe and understand as they do that conservatism is just about everything a socialist, liberal Democrat is not, such as: Pro-life; Pro-freedom; Pro-USA; Pro-Christian; Pro-Israel; Pro-family; Pro-traditional marriage; Pro-free market capitalism; Pro-war-on-terror and war on Islamofascism and terror in the Middle East and everywhere; Pro-military and Pro providing the necessary equipment to monitor our known enemies to provide protection for our citizens, even the liberals who oppose such equipment.  Also for smaller governments; For less taxes; Against socialism; Against state-owned or state-run media or banks and businesses; Against asinine state controls on our legal gun ownership; Against the so-called "progressive", left-wing school of liberalism.    Someone in authority in one of the many fine conservative organizations has got to take the lead role to get a sense of which direction the country needs to be led.  As Nike says, “Just do it!” Get a survey crafted and spread the word that it will not only be a nation-wide saturation of Republican registrants but people in other political parties who would like to be considered.  Costs may be a factor that could cause hesitation, but if everyone who participated in the survey would be willing to send just a dollar or two to the polling group, I’m sure it would pay all costs involved.    Git ‘er done.
