Cultural Marxism Nearly Won Through "Newspeak" And "Doublethink"

Over the past few weeks, America unraveled the stranglehold of woke ideology. First came the Trump victory, in both the electoral college and popular vote, while Republicans won majorities in both the House and Senate. Meanwhile, major corporations like Walmart have rolled back expensive Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) departments costing corporations millions (Source)

At least 22 states have now mandated state colleges to roll back DEI departments due primarily to the grassroots political backlash.(Source)

End the woke policies pushed by the Biden administration, including DEI and extreme transexual policies

The incoming administration has publicly called for an end to many of the woke policies pushed by the Biden administration, including DEI and extreme transexual policies. Polls show the substantial majority are for ending minor transgender procedures, despite previous support by the Biden administration and mainstream media. (Source) The gains of cultural Marxism are best explained by Progressive enforcement of “Newspeak” and “Doublethink”, something we cannot tolerate.

In the classic masterpiece “1984”, anti-communist author George Orwell described many of the horrendous attributes of communist totalitarianism through the fictional description of a dystopian totalitarian future. Through the story, Orwell describes how communists are able to maintain a totalitarian system through the control of word meaning called Newspeak. Newspeak has been defined as “a purposefully ambiguous and confusing language with restricted grammar and limited vocabulary used in Oceania, according to Orwell, “to diminish the range of thought.” (Source)

According to Orwell’s main character in 1984, Winston Smith, a result of Newspeak was “Doublethink” which Smith described as “To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it.”

Examples of doublethink through Newspeak were War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength, and 2 + 2 = 5. Orwell saw the Soviet’s use of Newspeak by calling the Communist Party newspaper mouthpiece “Pravda” (Truth in English), or calling the murder of Czar Nicholas and his wife/children a “humanitarian act”. The Soviets laid claim to the word “Democracy”, despite the one-party monopoly and totalitarian system. The Newspeak was ubiquitous under Communism.

In the case of the attempted progressive cultural Marxist assault on America, Newspeak was a primary way “to diminish the range of thought” of Americans to progressive ideological parameters. A primary example of this came during the George Floyd protests/riots when the Black Lives Matter organization, which at the time was led by self-described “trained Marxists” like Patrisse Cullors (and held to goals like disrupting the “nuclear family”) demanded Americans actively support and kneel to BLM.

Of course Americans believe Black lives matter, just as they believe Asian lives matter, etc. Progressive Newspeak came with fusing the sentiment that Black lives mattering (note: “All lives matter” became racist) with a radical neo-Marxist group which held to extreme views about transsexuality and against capitalism. 

Around this period, terms like “minor gender affirming” procedures became ubiquitous over the previous depictions like “child transexual surgery (or procedure)” or “minor genital mutilation”. Use of the term “gender affirming” became an admission and acceptance that the minor was born the “wrong” gender. Saying “gender affirming” required Christians, among others, to engage in “doublethink” of claiming God made a mistake. Use of this term twisted morality against the position of the vast Majority of Americans, making them villains against children requiring “affirmation”.

The Newspeak requiring doublethink came to a head for many Americans when it came to gender-bending and sports. Well over two thirds of Americans are against biological men in women’s sports (Source) The left knew they would have to change word meaning through Newspeak to push the radical ideology. The left attempted to twist morality with the claim that gender was not a physical reality but a self-identification of the individual.

Pretending a doctor delivering the baby made an arbitrary decision that could be “corrected” by the individual later. This finally came to a head when Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson claimed she could not define a woman during her confirmation hearings. Senator Marsha Blackburn decried the answer, stating “The fact that you can’t give me a straight answer about something as fundamental as what a woman is underscores the dangers…….”

During the election, the Trump campaign embraced the fight against Newspeak and Doublethink, particularly with the transgender issue. The polls after Trump’s election victory showed that the majority of Americans believed the transgender agenda had gone too far in government and society. God was with America in breaking the power of cultural Marxism which is driven by Newspeak and Doublethink. The Majority of Americans had enough and their voice was heard on November 5. We must understand and accept how America was almost shackled through Newspeak and commit that we will never let it happen again.
