By the 70's the traditional institutions of America were all in retreat

Decline of America

After seeing how the Europeans lived, America did evil in the sight of the Lord and He removed wisdom from her leaders. For the first time in her history, she started down the path of socialism. The price of this was a decade of economic hardship and the rise of totalitarianism abroad. America suffered under her first president for life.

At the end of WWII, the people of America supported Israel and continued to fund the gospel so the Lord blessed them for another decade, but the seeds had been sown in her leadership. In the early 60's, the judicial system expelled the Lord from America’s schools and He gave her next generation over to rebellion. By the 70's the traditional institutions of America were all in retreat when the courts laid the additional guilt of innocent blood on her. Most Americans didn't know it yet, but America was accelerating in decline. For the next four decades, America continued to slide, sometimes faster, sometimes slower. During this period, a remnant remained faithful, supported the gospel, and prayed to the Lord for the nation and to withhold his judgment. As the quality of life declined along with the power and influence of America, the Lord gave her time to repent. As long as she continued to support Israel, He was reluctant to judge her. The last straw came when the judicial system forced the acceptance of an abomination in place of the Lord's institution of marriage. When homosexuals were allowed to marry, the Lord gave the nation over not just to corruption, but to evil leadership. Crooked was elected as president in the midst of what should have been a minor economic adjustment. His first actions were to ensure he would remain in power regardless of the wishes of the citizens. He made it clear Israel no longer had an ally in America. As the economy turned back up, he sowed the seeds of financial collapse. Even in the first months of his reign, some warned he would establish a dictatorship. His response was to create lists of “potential domestic terrorists” including anyone who expressed a wish to return to the constitution. While he was focused on destroying what remained of the power and authority of the nation, he gave a green light to the enemies of America and her friends. As a result, a storm broke out over the world. Most Americans were devastated, but there were two groups who suffered minimal losses. It seemed to the public that the Jews and a portion of the Christians were untouched. It was rumored they were even warned ahead of time. Crooked took advantage of the resentment and announced the devastation was the fault of the Jews and conservative Christians. Since they were the backbone of American support for Israel, they were to blame for "all we have suffered". Enough responded to this call to cause Jewish persecution for the first time in the history of America. Jews started leaving America for Israel in large numbers for the first time. For those who believed in the authority of the scripture, real persecution came for the first time since the American Revolution. On the other hand, Crooked was disappointed that the nation didn't rise up as one against the groups he blamed. He declared martial law but found he couldn't trust the military to butcher Americans. Much to his chagrin, he found he couldn't even trust his O-youth, also known as the "green shirts", even those who had gone through his re-education camps er, campuses. So he called in foreign troops. Crooked asked the Mahdi, who had just established himself in Babylon, to send troops to "impose order". The Mahdi sent Moslem troops from Europe, Asia, and Africa. Crooked supplied them with modern weapons he took from his own military. Shortly after the arrival of foreign troops, entire Christian and Jewish communities were rounded up and disappeared. Crooked told what was left of the media that only domestic terrorists had been interned, but when asked he could produce only a few Christian prisoners and almost no Jews. Rumors quickly spread that the internment camps were the sites of mass beheadings. When America learned the only way to avoid internment was to confess “there is no god but Allah and Mohammad is his prophet”, she rose up in rebellion against her own government. At first, it was a standoff. The foreign troops could control the cities but when they ventured into the countryside, they were massacred by the insurgents. Crooked responded by ordering a scorched earth policy. "Deny the traitors all support no matter who you have to kill". As a result of this policy, the insurgents began losing ground. Gradually, in her misery, America remembered her Lord and cried to Him for deliverance. The motto of the revolution, “no king but Jesus”, reappeared. As the years went by, America no longer had any influence over world events. The Mahdi managed to take over Europe, most of the middle east, most of south and central Asia, and north Africa. In other regions, he worked through puppets like Crooked. The main exception was a significant problem gaining control in east Asia. When he finally got the agreements he needed, he decided to remove the last stumbling block in his heartland, Israel. He gathered troops from all over the world. Crooked could only send a token contingent but to show his loyalty he came with them. As they moved to overrun Israel, the Messiah arrived and destroyed all of the armies arrayed against Israel. He captured the Mahdi, his Prophet, and his lieutenants, including Crooked. They were thrown alive into the lake of fire. In America, beings of light arrived and destroyed all of the foreign troops and the few Americans on their side. Most of the founding fathers returned as representatives of the Messiah and re-established the constitution. In the peace that followed, America rebuilt her cities and towns. The Christian institutions from her history once again informed America how to relate to her Lord. Under the leadership of the Messiah and his representatives, America finally had a golden age that lasted “as long as there were stars in the sky and the dew fell from heaven”.
