“Democratic” Party devalued and debased human life as they promoted and protected the institution of slavery, as their “progressive” counterparts promote and protect the institution of abortion today
When Donald Trump took the oath of office as POTUS in 2017, a greater hope swept across the United States than in decades past, that the horrors of abortion could be ended. Part of this hope simply sprang from the realization that more and more the hypocrisy of the Left and the ruling liberal elite in America has been shown for what it truly is -- pure political propaganda. Even more, hope arose from the reality that President Trump dutifully appointed two conscientious Supreme Court Justices like Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh. However, the shocking, yet sobering, decision last week of the United States Senate to fail to protect the lives of American children signals an even more serious level of the assault upon the value of Life itself.
Unfortunately, the American culture is rapidly drifting away from the deep foundational values at the core of the Declaration of Independence. Right at the beginning of 2019, a very controversial issue assaults the American people, and it stands out as extremely divisive, and that is the debate over abortion “rights.” It is extremely bizarre that this nation, founded upon the self-evident truths that our Creator bestowed upon people the inalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness, can no longer defend the right to life of our children. Sadly, this tragic reality expresses a great deal about how contemporary society in America has devalued human life. This stark reality says a great deal about the disregard for the value of life, period.
If one considers this carefully, meaning beyond the bumper sticker phraseology, and the slick talking points that have been carefully crafted by political marketing gurus, the powerful advocates of abortion mainly empower women to have the pleasures of sexual promiscuity while escaping the consequences of killing the seed of life growing within them. The overt propaganda promulgated throughout the culture is somewhat similar to the propaganda that the same “Democratic” Party portrayed about black slaves in the days of the Aristocracy of the Deep South. The Party had succeeded in establishing the widespread cultural perception that blacks were not fully human. What is it that they say today with respect to the living, growing baby inside the mother’s womb?
The Democrat propaganda worked to reduce human beings to cattle for a good portion of the history of the United States. As Abraham Lincoln pointed out: “four score and seven years.” This fact is often trampled by contemporary, history-challenged individuals who forget slavery existed in the Americas under Great Britain from 1618 until 1783, the date the United States was officially born as a legitimate nation. And in 1861, Democrat leaders led the nation into a Civil War because the southern Aristocracy preferred to start a war to maintain their “right” to own human beings. Today, one can only wonder how far the “Democratic” Party would go to uphold the “right” of women to kill human beings inside their wombs.

Yet, further consideration of this issue needs to focus upon women themselves who are willing to accept the propaganda that the life growing inside of them is not human. This goes beyond the genuine concerns over the health of the potential mothers. It is a question of the health of the life inside as well, and just because the unborn baby has no voice, it becomes the choice of the potential parent, but this too is compatible to slavery as the slave had no voice on the plantation, and even more so in the greater society. The slave owner had the “right” of choice over the health, well-being, and even the deaths of the slaves under his/her control. The women who choose to abort the life within their wombs are making similar decisions over the lives of their unborn children.
In truth, the “Democratic” Party devalued and debased human life as they promoted and protected the institution of slavery, as their “progressive” counterparts promote and protect the institution of abortion today. The real losers are the hundreds of thousands of babies aborted every year by the abortion mills; especially through businesses like Planned Parenthood. The harsh reality is that Planned Parenthood has done more to destroy the value of parenthood than it has to promote it. The very name is a fallacious representation of its true purpose, which is seemingly "banning" parenthood.
Additionally, it has become increasingly clear that Planned Parenthood has a serious symbiotic relationship with the “Democratic” Party. Government funding of this abortion business should be fully investigated, as allegations are continually surfacing of how the funding Planned Parenthood receives is often donated to the campaigns of Democrat candidates. The most blatant example has been in the news recently, unfortunately not the mainstream news media, but the independent citizen journalists who actually care about such corruption reported that Virginia Governor Ralph Northam received at least $2 million from Planned Parenthood. This is a business that receives citizen’s tax dollars and the use of which appears to be channeled into the pockets of their “champions.”

Big League Politics, GodfatherPolitics, and LifeNews.com were a few news sources that reported on the public records indicating the Virginia governor was the recipient of the support of Planned Parenthood which spent over $3 million to purchase his position. Of that total, $2 million was direct contributions to his campaign. Even more blatantly, this is the same governor who endorsed a bill in the Virginia legislature to murder an infant after full delivery. And Northam not only publicly defended infanticide, he later clarified through a spokesman that the governor was not only referring to killing disabled babies. It seemed he has earned at least a portion of the $3 million for such a stand. The bill he endorsed did fail in the legislature; yet, it is still a sad commentary on Virginia politics as the nation’s largest abortion business was the governor’s third largest contributor in 2017.
Even sadder is the fact that Christians appear to watch in some sense of helpless numbness as Leftist lawmakers and leaders are beginning to push much more fervently since the start of 2019 for stronger and more radical abortion laws - including infanticide! Christians and people of genuine faith need to vote for Christians and candidates who represent legitimate faith-based positions, instead of sitting on the sidelines. The serious trouble America finds itself in regarding abortion “rights” is because there has been a real failure within the Christian community to address the issues head-on with a strong adherence to the Judeo-Christian principles embedded in the founding documents. The political process in a free Republic is not a spectator sport. It demands participation if it is to survive. The assault on the value of Life itself demands prayerful, thoughtful and organized political transformation.
