Denounce Hamas rocket attacks, says B’nai Brith

TORONTO, - B'nai Brith Canada has called on the international community to unequivocally condemn the recent surge in Hamas rocket attacks targeting southern Israel.

Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada, issued the following statement:
"The people of southern Israel remain under constant threat due to the vicious activities of terror groups in Gaza. This week's acts of terror have left Israeli Jews, Muslims and Christians alike, vulnerable to deadly attack. The international community must, without hesitation, condemn these terror attacks targeting innocent civilians and pressure Hamas to halt all terror activities targeting Israelis."
Over the past two days, 60 rockets have been launched by terror groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad directed at residential areas in southern Israel, injuring four and threatening the lives of over one million citizens living in the Jewish State's southern communities. Now averaging one rocket every fifteen minutes, this week's attacks have raised this year's total number of rockets launched from Gaza at over 400. Since Israel's full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in 2005, over 8,000 rockets have been fired on Israeli towns and villages.
