Diagram of a Leftist Revolution

France is the preview. The Democracy Files are the script.

France is burning again, and this time nobody is pretending it is about an eighteenth century king, a fuel tax, or complaining students.

The pattern has moved past Paris. Rotterdam, Brussels, Germany, Italy.

USAID's Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance office (DRG) did not dissolve when DOGE shut the agency

The choreography never varies: a cost-of-living grievance, then organized cadres who torch what the state will not defend, then a government that hesitates because force can be photographed and called repression. French leadership admits police "lost control." The disorder is not a failure of the plan. The disorder is the plan.

And there is a documentary trail showing that the people who exported the color-revolution model to Serbia, Georgia, and Ukraine have turned it inward--on us.

DataRepublican's "Democracy Files" drop, 312 gigabytes of leaked calls from the network around the shuttered USAID democracy office, lays out the strategy by name. USAID's Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance office (DRG) did not dissolve when DOGE shut the agency. It reconstituted as the Democracy Renewal Group, kept the acronym, and applied its foreign playbook here.

The plan is Renew American Democracy. The Four B's: Block: lawfare and street action to make governance impossible. Bridge and Belong: control the vocabulary and capture the institutions that define reality. Build: the payoff. DRG lead Danielle Reiff, on tape: "We can take that breakdown moment and leverage it for a big structural reform, you know, refounding moment."

Blocking goes to the United Democracy Alliance, no website, no roster, no filings, with No Kings, Indivisible, MoveOn, and 50501 among its members. One organizer calls it "Erica Chenoweth's project," after the Harvard professor whose 3.5 percent rule holds that once that share of a population is in the street, the government falls. A retired rear admiral runs the Insurrection Act working group.

Then the red lines: legitimate actions that would, in their judgment, make the federal government "cross the threshold into illegitimacy." Nobody voted on them. A paper handed to governors lists the options, including states withholding resources from federal officials and governors convening a "Third Continental Congress."

Democracy Renewal Group offers a rival constitution. Unwritten. Unpublished. Unratified. Enforced by street count

That Congress would be unconstitutional. A violation of Article I, Section 10.

A small room of people who spent their careers grading other countries' democracies have written the rubric for ours, and they hold the pencil.

The Constitution answers the legitimacy question. Legitimacy derives from ratification and consent--the "We the People" of 1787, and Article V's machinery for its own correction: two-thirds of both houses or a convention of states, then three-fourths ratification. Difficulty is the feature. It forces broad consent.

Against that, the Democracy Renewal Group offers a rival constitution. Unwritten. Unpublished. Unratified. Enforced by street count. The red lines are a shadow Article V with none of the formalities. The Third Continental Congress is an Article V convention in costume: the runaway convention my allies fear, guided by the enemy to destroy the American System. Madison's cure for faction was structural; this faction decided the institutions are the obstacle.

Note the sequence. A Left win becomes a mandate to "build" while the breakdown is fresh. A GOP hold becomes proof of illegitimacy and a reason to escalate. One outcome, two on-ramps.

Chuck DeVore framed the military question precisely: the planning treats the Insurrection Act as a trap that springs only on their timetable. Recover the original understanding. The 1792 Calling Forth Act and 1807 Insurrection Act never granted domestic war power; they supplement state authority, premised on policing being local. Washington marched on the Whiskey Rebels at the head of state militias. In Los Angeles in 1992, Bradley asked, Wilson activated, Bush invoked, and order returned with few rounds fired.

Red-Green Alliance: Red supplies institutional capture and street muscle; Green supplies demographic arithmetic and moral absolutism

Today's mayors refuse help and litigate, so troops become the story and arson the backdrop. Intervene and you are handed the "fascism" frame; stay out and their cities eat the consequences of their own governance. Either way, the choice was designed in a room without you.

There is a longer fuse. Campus radicalism became political correctness, then administrative soft dictatorship, cresting in 2020-21. We are at the dawn of a Maoist revolution: struggle sessions as public denunciation, ritual humiliation of the insufficiently compliant. Mao's Cultural Revolution needed no legislature, only that everyone know the price of silence. Control the culture but not the structure, and the structure becomes the enemy. Hence, refounding. Cloward-Piven: destroy it all and let utopia rise from the rubble.

Then the second blade. The Red/Green Axis, communist leftism fused with Islamism, is being slipped into place. Michigan's Senate race is the demonstration: El-Sayed's Brotherhood ties, his 2012 letter backing Morsi and purging media and police, the Hamas-adjacent donors. He calls Hamas "evil" and Israel "evil" in one breath, and his former staffer explains why he cannot do more: "he's going to lose the people that brought him up in the first place."

Hammond was blunt: "The primary aim of Islam is not spiritual but political." Immigration without assimilation, as Hal Lindsey put it, is invasion by another name.

Red and Green fuse because both are totalizing. Both treat the constitutional order as provisional, one to the dialectic, the other to the ummah. Neither accepts a charter leaving any of life outside the state. Red supplies institutional capture and street muscle; Green supplies demographic arithmetic and moral absolutism.

This is not left versus right. It is liberty versus tyranny

Shurk asked what should embarrass the Left: with every commanding institution in hand, why not build the paradise and leave us alone? Because leftism does not build, it takes. It cannot tolerate a free jurisdiction next door, because prosperity is a standing indictment. The Soviets built the Wall to keep people in. Orwell warned us; we stopped listening.

That is the strongest argument for federalism ever made by accident. The Tenth Amendment exists so the country can hold two civilizational models at once and let them compete. State sovereignty is the great check, and the Left knows it, hence the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Amendments and Reynolds v. Sims. They need states reduced to compliant provinces.

Three orders of business. Insist on the text. Ask by what clause a red line makes the government illegitimate. Ask for the Article V applications. Understand the Constitution is counter-revolutionary by design: separation of powers, staggered terms, supermajorities, and a Senate answering to state legislatures. They will come for those features first. Prepare locally. Policing. Elections. And the constitutional sheriff. These are all units of resilience.

The midterms will resolve nothing. A GOP win matters if Republicans will stand against tyranny, but the war is inside that party too. This is not left versus right. It is liberty versus tyranny.

France is the preview. The Democracy Files are the script. The only question is whether the people who wrote the red lines decide when the republic has failed, or whether the text does. The Framers answered: Article V, the Tenth Amendment, Article I, Section 10. It has been there the whole time.
