Disappointing the monstrous regime of Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was interviewed on CBS's Face the Nation last Sunday. He said that by decertifying the Iran nuclear deal, President Trump has guaranteed that the world will no longer "trust any U.S. administration to engage in any long-term negotiation..." He added that "there's not much courtesy left in the way the United States treats the rest of the world." Oh boo hoo!

The Islamic Republic of Iran has a long history of broken promises on international agreements

Take a moment to let these thoughts settle in. Iran and Zarif claim to distrust the U.S. and are bothered by our lack of courtesy. That the Iranian foreign minister can express these ideas with a straight face is beyond belief. It would be hilarious were it not so horrifying. The terrorist regime of Iran is led by genocidal, anti-American, Shia Muslim Islamists. It has proven iteslf untrustworthy and deadly--funding terrorism worldwide--almost since the day the Mullahs led a successful coup against the Shah of Iran in 1979. Zarif himself has been called "A boldfaced liar" by House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.) The 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), i.e. the Iran nuclear deal, is the agreement negotiated by the Obama administration with the governments of Russia, China, Germany, France, Great Britain, and Iran, which purportedly cuts off or delays Iran's longtime clandestine efforts to develop a nuclear bomb. In reality, the deal is a ludicrous joke that bribes Iran with billions of dollars in return for an insincere, unenforceable promise that the Iranians won't actually develop that weapon within the next decade or so. The Islamic Republic of Iran has a long history of broken promises on international agreements. The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, signed by the Iranians in 1968, was supposed to bar Iran from developing nuclear weapons. The Iranians have been violating it since the 1979 coup. They have also been making a mockery of the JCPOA--producing more heavy water than needed for peaceful purposes, barring international inspectors from military sites where nuclear weaponry is suspected of being developed, and exceeding the JCPOA's limits on nuclear weapons-critical advanced centrifuge research and development. Iran has also been violating the arms embargo included in the UN resolution that affirmed the JCPOA by shipping conventional weapons throughout the Middle East. These weapons have been sent to Islamic terrorist groups, including many that have killed American and allied troops. Iran's greatest Middle East ally, the Syrian dictatorship of Bashar al-Assad, has killed almost half a million Syrian civilians, and prompted millions more to seek refuge in Western Europe-- destabilizing those nations that have taken them in.

Iran has an extensive history of killing and maiming Americans

Iran has an extensive history of killing and maiming Americans. During the 1980s, Iran birthed Hezbollah, a terrorist organization which until September 11, 2001, held the distinction of murdering more Americans than any other. It was responsible for the 1983 Beruit Marine barracks and U.S. embassy bombings, which took a combined 304 lives, mostly Americans. CIA Beirut Station Chief William Buckley was abducted in 1984 by Hezbollah terrorists. He was tortured for almost two years. The CIA even received videos from Hezbollah showing the torture. U.S. Marine Colonel William R. Higgins suffered a similar fate. He was taken from the streets of Beirut in 1988, held two years, beaten, starved, had skin removed from his face, his tongue cut off, and was castrated by the Iranian-educated torturers of Hezbollah, before he mercifully died. Post-2003, Iran supplied explosively formed projectiles to Iraqi and Afghani insurgents, both Shia and Sunni, that killed or maimed thousands of American soldiers. One of those Americans was U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Robert Bartlett (retired), who died three times on the operating table before being resuscitated, and now lives with horrific injuries.

Obama administration committed the U.S. to an unenforceable arms control regime with the Iranians in return for cash bribes

In 2011, Iran's IRGC--the Iranian revolutionary guard soldiers that Zarif claims all Iranians support--plotted to assassinate Saudi Ambassador Adel al-Jubeir while he dined at Cafe Milano, an upscale Georgetown restaurant in Washington, D.C. The Iranian agent they recruited intended to use a bomb, with no concern for nearby civilians. (He was warned that there could be 100 to 150 casualties.) The Obama administration committed the U.S. to an unenforceable arms control regime with the Iranians in return for cash bribes that the administration even admitted would be used to fund terrorism. Furthermore, by entering into such high-stakes negotiations at all, Obama elevated the Iranian terrorist regime's legitimacy on the world stage. So now this fraud of a foreign minister gets to parade around that stage accusing America of being the deceiver! The Iranian regime Zarif represents has done horrible things to the U.S. and its' people. For him to get on his high horse and criticize the U.S. is beyond reprehensible. I hope Donald Trump continues to upset them.

Bombthrowers is a blog about politics and the war for the hearts and minds of Americans from a conservative viewpoint.

In line with our name, we do not hold back. We have a take-no-prisoners attitude when it comes to fighting for conservative principles. The Left doesn’t play nice, and that’s why they’ve been winning. It’s time for conservatives to rise up and turn the tide.

We’re not afraid to take on anyone, especially the Washington Establishment—Republican or Democrat.
