Barack Obama President-in-Training, Freedom comes at a price

Do Conservatives Have the Right Stuff?

Before Barack Obama was sworn in as the president of the United States (legitimately or not) there were many detractors on the Right who warned of impending doom. That DOOM was to come in the form of liberal economic policies (translated: unchecked pork projects and growing the federal government).

More DOOM was to come from doing away with the Bush administration’s abortion policies, stem cell research, and diplomatic toughness towards the likes of Iran, North Korea, and Cuba. The Right said the Supreme Court could be tilted so far Left that it might never be righted again. The loyal opposition said that Obama would defer some military control to the UN, spend huge amounts fighting the bugaboo of Global Warming, nationalize health care, organize a citizen police force…and the list goes on. Guess what? The Right was RIGHT! And while our President-in-Training continues to unload spending programs and Bill of Rights curtailments, the real question arises. Do Conservatives have what it takes to fight back? Are they ready for the ensuing battle? Can they come out of their comfy suburbs and rock solid rural havens to protest and rise up against a government that is speeding toward a fundamental change in Americans’ lives, liberties, and their pursuit of happiness? Oh sure, Rush Limbaugh is trying to rally the troops. But his First Amendment rights are being challenged as are the rights of anyone else who dares speak out against the messiah. Some CNBC talking econoheads have mouthed off on air about the numbskull economic policies of the Obama crew. And yes, there have been some Tea Parties protests, but unless you’re reading about it online you might have missed it. But are there enough red blooded constitutionalists willing to DO something other than complain? The Evangelicals in America have about as much influence as a comedian at a funeral. Most conservatives are too busy working and paying taxes that support those who do neither. What will it take to cause an uprising of the Right in the United States? Or are we resigned to sit back and watch the mold and mildew of socialism and Marxism spread its scummy spores across the land?

We’ve lost our core convictions and values to relativism and hedonism

What has happened in America that an inexperienced quasi-American can rise to such levels with the full faith and credit of much of the “free” media championing his ascension? How have we lost the moral compass of a great nation? I know the answers to many of these questions. And I suspect you do too. In short, we have forgotten that our freedoms came with a price. A price paid with blood and tears. We’ve lost our core convictions and values to relativism and hedonism. The choice is simple. Bar the door and shut out the noise of the chisel as it erodes your liberty, or fight to restore the greatness upon which America was founded.
