Dollars and Fall Election

Call it "economics" or "finance" or whatever. The bottom line is that Canadians are feeling a $ crunch. They don't have enough $. Ask Gordon Campbell about his current budget woes. So you want us to spend $5-10/vote this fall for another election which improves nothing?

Start with Senate to prove that you care any more about how you spend the money of Canadians than Harper. If you don't know the $ worth of another Parliamentarian why should we trust you to know the $ worth of anything else? Perhaps we are not spending enough $ on the Senate. If Senator Campbell for example gives us a much greater return than what we pay him, why not pay more? What is your statement on the cost-effectiveness of the Senate now? Is there anything in the Constitution which says Senator Campbell has to be paid a given amount of $? Is there any reason why Senators cannot be paid what they are worth? How much is a Senator worth in your opinion? Piper
