Donald Trump is a Threat to Democratcy!

No, that's not a typo! A Democratcy is a government run by and for Democrats. It is not to be confused with a similar sounding and nearly equally destructive form of government known as a Democracy.

We have been enjoying, if that is the correct word, the fruits of a Democratcy for almost four years, now. 

This once free and prosperous nation has been brought to its knees with out-of-control inflation, an unchecked mass influx of criminal aliens euphemistically called undocumented immigrants, a soaring national debt, vast expenditures supporting foreign conflicts, the economy crippled in chasing a non-existent "climate crisis", and other problems too numerous to mention. All this and more is a result of the disastrous policies of a Democrat administration of questionable legitimacy.

Add to that the damage done to the rule of law by unprosecuted crime, including assault and murder, a two-tier "justice" system that harshly prosecutes Republicans for minor crimes while overlooking major crimes by Democrats. That is not to mention the various trials of Donald Trump for... dare I say it... Trumped up charges.

No wonder the Democrats are so fearful. They are terrified that when Trump becomes president he will do to them what they have done to him and to our country. Recent articles have tried to paint him as a ruthless tyrant who, when he regains power, will use the government to persecute his political enemies, you know, like they have done.

Now there may be some justification for the Democrat's concerns, not because Donald Trump is vindictive, but because Trump wants to restore equal justice under law, and so much of what the Democrats have been doing violates so many laws. When Trump becomes president again, these Democrats are unlikely to stop what they have been doing and suddenly become law abiding model citizens.

Even setting aside the huge backlog of criminal activity that deserves prosecution, the Democrats are unlikely to be able to restrain themselves, and will continue their riots, election manipulations, bribery, and so many other illegal activities, that simple honest law enforcement will probably net a large number of them—no political payback needed.

Another recent claim was that Trump would monitor pregnant women in states that outlawed abortions and would track them down if they traveled to another state to get one where it was legal. There was no explanation as to why Trump would do that. The claim was simply more projection of Democrat behavior onto Trump. It was Democrats, after all, who wanted to violate personal body autonomy and force everyone to get a lethal injection of an untested " vaccine". To Democrats, the expression is "your body, our choice".

Of course, there is always the climate crisis to fall back on. "Donald Trump will destroy the environment and bring back fossil fuels" is the cry. He will no longer sacrifice to the climate gods and the oceans will rise, fires will rage, hurricanes will scour the lands, polar bears will go extinct, birds will fall from the skies— well, maybe not that last one —all because Trump will not believe in Science. Never mind that the Science of the Democrat Left is fraught with errors, speculation passing for fact, and outright falsification of data.

Oh the ills that will befall us when Trump becomes President! Our economy will recover and freedom will be restored. All the migrants to whom so much was promised if they would only come and vote Democrat will have to return to their native lands. Our institutions of Higher Indoctrination will have to return to teaching useful, boring subjects like Engineering and truthful History again. Men will be men and women, women, and the lucrative industry of gender transitions will be brought to ruin. There will be much gnashing of teeth and rending of garments in the halls of power as vast edifices of regulatory grandeur fall to his barbaric wrath.

The Democrat dreams of an inclusive, equitable, diverse classless society will be dashed on the cruel rocks of reality as people are forced to be rewarded for the value they provide instead of for their existence. Innovation will be unleashed to wreak its disruptive effects instead of being throttled to manageable levels. Instead of an orderly society where everyone knows his place, and the deserving elites are secure in their positions of power and control, we will have chaos when anyone can rise or fall based on their own abilities.

To be fair, not all Democrats desire the downfall of America. The problem is twofold in that a small number of Progressive far-Left individuals have seized control of the party agenda, and second that too many who call themselves Democrats are unwilling to think and question the direction of their party and to disagree with that direction.

Thinking requires effort, and good thought is often hard work. As such, it is often avoided by those on the Left, just as they avoid many other forms of actual work. It is much easier to let others do the heavy lifting and provide them with pre-digested thought pabulum that they can consume without effort, much like the way baby pigeons are fed by their mothers. Indeed, the analogy is apt in other ways as well.

Like pigeons, Democrats tend to travel in flocks, going wherever the flock goes. As a survival strategy, flocking has several advantages over more solitary approaches, and works for Democrats as well as pigeons. Likewise with both, these flocks can become nuisances as they descend on an area, leaving their messes behind when they go. In such times one can wish they would get the flock away.

Humor aside, there are many good and thoughtful Democrats who are beginning to question the wisdom of their party's direction. They see an economy faltering, and the prosperous, plentiful, and just society of their dreams collapsing as checks and boundaries of civilization are eroded before their eyes.

Many are starting to realize that the values, institutions, and norms that they found so restrictive are essential to freedom and happiness. Human nature is not easily changed and what we call Civilization has developed over centuries of effort to establish a balance between the needs and desires of individuals and the needs of a peaceful society.

Democrats are often idealists who see what might be and view the strictures of society as barriers to be removed in order to achieve their dreams. Republicans are more inclined to understand that every change has consequences, most of which are both difficult to anticipate and more harmful than beneficial.

Indeed, the last three years have been an object lesson illustrating the danger of ill-considered actions. The dreams of Democrats have run headlong into the pragmatism of reality, much to our detriment as a people and a nation. The excuse given for failure is, as always, that there was too much opposition—that the dreams would come true if only the dreamers had enough power. There is never enough power, though, to overcome reality, except briefly.

Change can be good, so long as it is tempered with pragmatic evaluation and executed with caution. Most changes have negative consequences despite initial promise. Likewise, though, change is sometimes necessary to meet changed circumstances or to respond to opportunities, or even for simple survival. Balance is essential.

The pendulum has swung too far Left in recent years, and balance must be restored. Many Democrats see a Trump presidency as a swing too far to the Right. Most of the rest of us see it as restoration of essential balance.

Prosperity follows from freedom, and the ability to conceive and implement good change comes along with both. We can be thankful that Donald Trump is a threat to Democratcy. We've seen where that leads and it's time to get back on track.
