Klaus Schwab
“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” ~ Abraham Lincoln
Whether Abraham Lincoln actually uttered the words in the above quotation may be debatable, but the words themselves remain true. There are many gullible people in this world, but not everyone can be fooled. It is especially difficult “to fool” another person when your actions do not match your words.

1,000 Flights for a group of people whose stated mission is to “save the planet” from carbon dioxide emissions

This past week the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) was again held in Davos, Switzerland. According to the media, 2,700 leaders from 130 countries including 52 heads of state and other government leaders were in attendance. The media also reported that over 1,000 jet aircraft, most privately owned, were flown to Davos to transport conference attendees. For a group of people whose stated mission is to “save the planet” from carbon dioxide emissions, this fact alone raises many questions for those of us with good critical thinking skills. This year’s WEF conference theme was “Cooperation in a Fragmented World.” On the surface, the theme sounds innocent enough, but it does raise an obvious question: Cooperation to do what? Digging deeper into the answer to that question should make all of us freedom-loving people very nervous, but more about that later. The World Economic Forum was founded by German economist Klaus Schwab in 1971 when he was only 33 years old. I mention this as a point of interest because I have not read about many 33-year-old men who have set up “an economic organization” with the intent of changing the entire world. While most of us have at one time or another dreamed about doing something “to change the world,” I don’t think our desire necessarily included wanting to “dominate” the entire world or literally dominate others. Just looking at some of the statements Herr Schwab has made in the last several years should leave no doubt in your mind what his true intentions are. His incredible arrogance is on full display pretty much every time he opens his mouth.

Arrogance is a feeling or belief of personal superiority or importance often accompanied by contempt for others deemed less worthy in rank, power, or intelligence

Arrogance is a feeling or belief of personal superiority or importance often accompanied by contempt for others deemed less worthy in rank, power, or intelligence. When Klaus Schwab said – and I paraphrase – that we would ultimately own nothing and be happy about it, there should be no doubt that his personal intentions include domination over all humankind. But wait. There may be hope that the wheels are coming off the wagon. According to an article in The Guardian newspaper on January 18, some members of the WEF staff are very unhappy. They told the newspaper that “Schwab was a law unto himself.” They also complained that Schwab does not have any succession plan for leadership of the WEF. Are these staff members merely concerned about keeping their jobs, or are they true believers in the WEF mission, and that is the reason they want a leadership succession plan? It’s hard to know. What I do know is that when an organization’s longtime employees become disgruntled, there is usually more to the story, and often we are just getting a sneak peak at what the real issues are. Perhaps these faithful WEF staff members are not liking what they are seeing behind the scenes, and they are starting to recognize they have been fooled. Again, it’s hard to say. However, I hope others are paying attention to what was going on at Davos 2023 because I think something is about to change now that Herr Schwab’s wife Hilde suddenly has taken a more prominent seat at the table instead of only working behind the scenes. If you don’t want to be fooled, pay attention to even the smallest of details.
