Don't let Joe Burden take credit for Juneteenth because he needs it to supercharge low energy reelection chances

I'm not an ageist. Time and experience often bring wisdom, unless you're Joe Burden (my name for the current president).
In a cynical act of symbolism over substance toward my community, he made our generations-old private observance of Juneteenth a federal holiday on June 17, 2021.
He did this as early GOTV; a ready-to-go talking point to an underwhelmed electorate during what Democrats knew would be a difficult 2024 presidential election cycle.
Given a smarmy pedigree as a long-term limousine liberal, it wouldn't be surprising if Burden brags about rivalling Abraham Lincoln in 'helping' Black people.
Note: I'm not a Lincoln fan either--definitely another topic for another time.
Burden wouldn't be the first person suffering "White Savior Complex" regarding us but to date, he's the highest ranking case.
He's hoping against hope older Black voters swoon over presidential notice of this largely ignored private Black observance and that younger ones are swayed enough to give him a chance--instead of giving votes to independents like Dr. Cornel West or RFK, Jr., perhaps even Donald Trump or more likely, give up and cast no ballots for anyone.
Juneteenth becoming a federal holiday without opposition encountered to make Martin Luther King, Jr., Day one is supposed to motivate us despite Burden's record of racist remarks, pronounced preference for migrants and support of Israel's counteroffensive against Hamas and its allies following the October 7th, 2023 massacre.
Strategically, he's banking on my parent's generation and most of mine carrying him across the finish line, convinced he's our only "hope" in this contentious cycle.
Older Black voters are his life preserver for presidential election cycles. He hopes this bolt of electoral lightning will strike nationwide to supercharge present reelection chances.
Between my sector of Generation X and Millennials rises independent views troubling corporate Democrats insulted at the mere suggestion they have offer us tangibles.
Tangibles are for important groups they feel deserve details and commitments- not my community.
This long awaited independence, if unapologetically leveraged, could cleave Black voters away from Democrats, forcing both sides of the aisle to compete for a singular swing vote loyal to neither party.
This potential swing vote would be viable at least until illegal migrants are granted the right to vote should some on both sides of the aisle have their way.
Don't let Joe Burden take credit for Juneteenth because he needs it to supercharge low energy reelection chances.
