Elijah Cummings: Hillary's Benghazi lie actually shows how honest and forthcoming she is

If you're a Hillary supporter, it's already obvious that you don't care about the endless array of lies she's told about the Benghazi debacle. You've decided that four Americans died on her watch - including someone she called a 'close fried' - and you know she spent weeks lying about why they died, but it's no big deal. You acknowledge that she promised families of the fallen that she'd shaft the 1st Amendment by going after the creator of an embarrassingly bad YouTube video that did not cause the death of their loved ones, but you're OK with that.

Elijah Cummings, unsurprisingly, shares your lack of concern. Cummings appeared on this week's Meet The Press, where Chuck Todd asked if he was bothered by Hillary's now-proven YouTube lie. Cummings replied “No not at all," then added: “As a matter of fact, I thought the Secretary explained it very well.” According to Cummings, thanks to shifting intel, Hillary was the real victim in the Benghazi mess. “Some of it said that it was in regard to the video. Others said it was an attack. So therefore the information was fluid. And the information that she got, even from the intelligence community, was a little bit mixed.” I guess we're all just supposed to ignore the fact that Hillary herself knew it was an attack - and alerted her family to that fact - while it was still ongoing. Even more nauseating, Cummings actually argues that the very email which proves Hillary lied about the YouTube video actually serves as evidence that she's completely honest and forthright: “...And I got to tell you Chuck, one of those things, that email to her daughter, you could have easily considered that personal,” Cummings said. “But, because she mentioned the attacks, she included that in the stacks of emails that she turned over to the Committee. And that just goes to show you that she was trying to do the right things.” In other words, because she failed to delete an email that contained evidence of her lie, she's completely honest.
