Massive political reforms in both nations-- as ordinary folk realize that control freaks are not just costly, they are economic sociopaths

Energy Problems: Energy Solutions: Canada and the US

Energy Problems: Energy Solutions: Canada and the USThe new socialist government in America is determined to destroy its practical and affordable generation of power from fossil fuels, even though today’s coal-powered electrical plants are clean and the latest natural gas plants are not only clean but especially efficient. Of course, DC is not the only corrupt capital on the continent. Ottawa is equally compulsive about destroying Canada’s Oil Patch, in which case there will be convoys of tankers carrying LNG and oil from Russia to the West and East Coasts of both countries, which would only last until all pipelines are shutdown
We read a paper the other day whereby liberals (Liberals in Canada) are excited about using unused pipelines to conduct electricity. Of course, steel is a conductor and the pipes are insulated, ideal for below ground electrical distribution. Unsightly powerlines and towers would be replaced by existing underground conductors, but there would still be unsightly windmills and solar farms, a blight purists will continue to overlook. An additional use for pipelines would be for pumping massive amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere into storage in former oil producing fields. CO2 reduction programs, of course, will limit atmospheric concentrations from declining below 150 ppm. At which level all life on Earth would cease. Some alert scientists are applying for grants to develop a life-saving “life-o-stat”, the equivalent to a household thermostat for regulating CO2 concentrations. Pipelines with larger diameters at 48 inches could be used for zipping people around from one place to another. Propelled by an inert form of CO2, the system would be infinitely better than high-speed rail lines above ground everywhere. But before fully wrecking our practical and economic energy systems, there could be massive political reforms in both nations-- as ordinary folk realize that control freaks are not just costly, they are economic sociopaths.

Bob Hoye——

Bob Hoye (BobHoye.com) has been researching investments for decades, which eventually included the history of financial and political markets. He considers now to be the most fascinating time for both since the Great Reformation of the 1600s.  Bob casts a caustic eye on all promotions and, having a degree in geophysics, is severely critical of the audacity that a committee can “manage” not just the economy, but also the temperature of the nearest planet. He has had articles published in major financial journals and, as a speaker, has amused assemblies in a number of cities, from London to Zurich to Tokyo.
