Enormous Hope, Unchanging Vice

If one man stands clearly apart from the entire western world, alone in his unwillingness to utter the simple phrase "radical Islamic extremism", why on earth should Americans expect this same man to utter the simple phrase "personal responsibility" when facing racial issues; those not exclusively in our black communities, but within all American communities?
Should we hope this one man who holds such vast political power, in part by fueling racial discord through his measured silence, incendiary comments, nefarious associations and all too frequent use of half truths, will truly change? This excerpt magnifies the significance of what America faces without a change. "President Obama stood before the American people and declared victory in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Could it be that such a catapult from geo-political and military reality would strain even Mr. Obama's immense capacity for fanciful communication to the great unwashed American citizenry? He and his cadre of apologists and fantasists who prefer their wishes and rationalizations to empirical evidence, the history, hard facts and what should be objective knowledge. Mr. Obama's hopes and wishes, whatever for and for whatever purpose, are so much easier for him to shape than all those stubborn geopolitical and ideological realities that defy him. Mr. Obama describes radical Islamist terrorism as "a phenomenon of violence", no matter its inherent banality and its major progression for this president from where he began in 2009.

"War on Terror" replaced by "Overseas contingency operations."

The Obama administration was committed from the outset to replacing the Bush phrase "War on Terror" to "Overseas contingency operations." The term phenomenon sounds transitory, temporary, outside our experience with terrorism. Which is of course tragically part of our national experience, and despite his use of the word phenomenon the violence of radical Islamist terrorists is also very much an experience owned by this president who has failed to succeed in two wars, and who has instead retreated. President Obama's language is not only asinine and cowardly but prissy and banal when you consider the fact that Obama's British counterpart, David Cameron, called such terrorists a "poisonous, radical death cult." Radical Islamist terrorists with the Islamic State are swallowing up Iraq and Syria. Al Qaeda and its affiliates are extending their reach through Libya, Somalia, Yemen and beyond. The Taliban is expanding its power in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Boko Haram is devastating Nigeria. And rather than destroy those whose names he deems can't be spoken, this president frets and fusses over the semantics and connotation of "radical Islamic terrorists", and how to avoid such references as well, apparently at any cost, no matter how high the cost to all of us." -- Source: Lou Dobbs, Fox Business Anchor Below are four of the more famous quotes from former British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, the man largely credited with saving Europeans from radical extremism during World War II. Churchill studied Mein Kampf, accepted at face value the words spoken by the radicals who believed in this version of state sponsored terrorism, and he boldly shared their evil intent with the civilized world.
  1. “It is no use saying, ‘We are doing our best.’ You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary.”
  2. “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.”
  3. “If you have an important point to make, don’t try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time-a tremendous whack.”
  4. “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing has happened.”
Shall we choose to embrace the truth of radical Islamic extremism? And when we do "stumble over the truth" of irresponsible, life threatening actions that call for a humans to exercise self-defense, let us not hurry off as if nothing has happened. Worse still, let us not stand by in silence when the leader of the free world distorts these truths in an effort to divide, inflame and destroy our society for political gain. Let us all seek to embrace, teach and reignite the true miracle of America.
