A very interesting and timely article here. I was uncertain about this film, "The Rite," from its TV trailers... but I think it is worth seeing after reading this article.

Those of you who doubt that there is evil, might also want to read this. Me? I have no doubt. If there is no devil, then there is no sin and I need no Savior. I can look around this world and see how ludicrous that position is. If there isn't the personification of evil then who tempted Jesus in the desert for 40 days? If there is not evil personified, why must Jesus be persecuted by evil men, be betrayed, and then die on a cross for our sins? If we don't believe in that, then what Hope do we have? Still, people persist in universalism. They reject the confluence of Scripture and ancient beliefs from other religions that do no hesitate to accept the notion of evil personified. Without God and Jesus, evil has free time and a constant recess on a worldly playground where we all dance and sing and make merry until we die ... and then what? I ain't goin' there. I am a simple soldier. I identify with the Centurion's testimony to Jesus about his sick servant. ["Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and my servant will be healed."] I also identify with the Centurion at the foot of the cross ["Surely, this was a righteous man."]. A Roman Centurion, a hard and brutal man, proclaiming Jesus to be the Son of God? For none among men can be righteous save for the Messiah. These conversion witness statement are all I ever needed. Anyway ... read it with eyes and ears of faith. Anyone can attack the authenticity of Scripture, it is much harder to believe. I choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong. Have a nice weekend.
