United Nations Special Rapporteur Richard Falk

Falk is biased provocateur, says B’nai Brith Canada

TORONTO, 3 July 2012 - B'nai Brith Canada has expressed its outrage over comments by United Nations Special Rapporteur Richard Falk at the 20th session of the U.N. Human Rights Council labelling the Jewish State's response to Hamas rockets as unjustified. Falk is known for his ongoing statements justifying the terror activities of Hamas and for his obsessive demonization of the Jewish State.

Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada, issued the following statement: "Richard Falk's reputation as someone who justifies the terror activities of Hamas should have, by now, invalidated any legitimacy he claims as a UN special rapporteur. His latest comments admonishing Israel's response to Hamas aggression as unjustified have proven, yet again, that he is a biased, anti-Israel provocateur. Falk's outrageous statements imply that the Jewish State is the sole country in the international system whose legitimate right to security should not be recognized. With his recent comments, Falk has proven himself, yet again, as an instigator in the UN's dangerous demonization campaign against the State of Israel."
