FBI obtains search warrant to probe more Hillary e-mails

Things are moving quickly, and that includes working over the weekend in the newly re-opened probe of Hillary's schlock, homebrew e-mail server. The FBI told NBC on Sunday evening that while the rest of us were watching football, it was getting a search warrant to do another deep dive into you-know-what:

The warrant came two days after FBI director James Comey revealed the existence of the emails, which law-enforcement sources said were linked to Weiner's estranged wife, top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. The FBI already had a warrant to search Weiner's laptop, but that only applied to evidence of his allegedly illicit communications with an underage girl.

Comey's disclosure of the emails ignited fierce criticism, particularly from Clinton, who called the move an "unprecedented" departure from FBI policy. On Sunday, Democratic Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid scolded Comey as well, saying in a letter that he "demonstrated a disturbing double standard for the treatment of sensitive information, with what appears to be clear intent to aid one political party over another." Reid added that his office determined that Comey may have violated the Hatch Act, which bars government officials from using their authority to influence elections.

The significance of the new warrant is that the FBI now has legal clearance to go through everything on Carlos Danger's laptop, not just his sexting. The Clintons associate with such lovely people. Huma Abedin, meanwhile, is going to have a tough time explaining why she swore under oath months ago that she had turned over every device that might have e-mails from the above-mentioned schlock, homebrew server. And if Abedin really didn't know that Carlos had thousands of her e-mails on his laptop, that's even worse, as it proves just how easy it was for this stuff to be spread around without anyone who should have been keeping an eye on it actually doing so. As for Harry Reid's invocation of the Hatch Act, I don't even know how to stop laughing at that one. A candidate commits a serious crime, law enforcement deals with it, and law enforcement is the problem for "influencing the election"? You don't think maybe Hillary is the problem for embarking on a decades-long crime spree, do you? This should be some week.
