Greenie Chicken Little has a problem, Case Study in Mass Stupidity

Finite Number of Falling Skies

Greenie Chicken Little has a problem. Every doomsday scenario that the warmists mention is SKEWED to support human caused climate change, and every scenario is quickly rebutted as false. And there are a finite number of human caused horror stories that a skeptical public will endure.

The warmists continue stirring up fresh batches of greenie pasta and keep hurling it at the wall of science, hoping SOME of their lies will stick. But the wall of science has a Teflon coating of open review mixed with empirical evidence. What reality and independent research cannot confirm quickly slides to the floor. Virtually every assertion in the IPCC litany of pending disasters has been proven to be obvious distortions or non-peer reviewed propaganda. It is pointless to review that record, but beneficial to explore the ‘crisis-de-jour’, which is SEA LEVEL RISE. To the untutored in both science and history, this might be considered a human caused threat. To those with the slightest curiosity, this is more warmist lies. The prerequisite for the warmist belief system is that the Earth is a fixed system and only humans can cause change. There is then some mythical ‘perfect’ condition (their version of Eden) that humans have destroyed (their version of Original sin) and that requires sacrifice of life and property to restore (their version of the Resurrection). Most Eco-zealots are agnostic or atheist, but by crafting an ‘Earth worship’ with traditional psychological touchstones, even the devout can be sucked in, as is the case with leaders of some Christian denominations. The Chicken Little warmists are trying to lead the world to the den of the Carbon Credit fox for a one way dinner engagement.

Case Study in Mass Stupidity

As a precocious elementary school student in the fifties, I mentioned the puzzle like match of the east and west sides of the Atlantic to my teacher. Yes, it ‘appears’ that way, but we all know that continents do not move. It was a delightful affirmation of intuition when the world geological community recognized that ‘fact’ in 1965. What is still troubling is how long it took for TRUTH TO TRIUMPH. Turns out the obvious had been noted by Abraham Ortelius, a Flemish cartographer in 1596 and debated by many others who followed. In 1912, meteorologist Alfred Wegener wrote the article ‘Continental Drift’ and followed in 1915 with the book ‘Origin of Continents and Oceans’ which sparked fierce debate. Camps were divided between the ‘drifters’ and the ‘fixists’ for thirty years until the FIXISTS FINALLY WON. The continents were then ‘fixed’ until 1955, when Keith Runcorn brought new evidence, which was further supported by Warren Carey in 1957. It is amazing that it only took 370 years for the obvious, and 8 years for the irrefutable, to be accepted by the world science community. Today’s generation of ‘drifters’ and ‘fixists’ are the ‘’deniers’ and the ‘warmists’. The world view is of a dynamic or static reality. All evidence is that the world is a constantly changing place and humanity’s ability to measure change does not imply any involvement in that change. That ocean levels would be constant, save for the tiny fraction of a benign three-atom gas from human combustion, is merely a ‘fixist’ myth. There is overwhelming consensus that the Earth is subject to temperature cycles known as Glacial and Inter-glacial periods. For the last half billion years these have tended to be 100,000 year long Ice Ages and 15,000 year long Inter-glacial periods. The last Ice Age ended in three distinct phases beginning 20,000 years ago. As the three mile thick ice pack melted over the northern hemisphere, the sea levels began to rise. Ocean coral reefs offer the best proxy information on sea level change. Limited to a thin margin of existence near the ocean surface, these marine animals drown easily as oceans rise and accurately date the event. The Blanchon-Shaw Sea Level graphs presented in Graham Hancock’s book ‘Underworld’ show the dramatic steps in the 450 ft sea level rise based on the submerged coral reefs studies. There is little argument over the age or magnitude of these events. As huge ice dams burst worldwide the oceans may have risen fifty feet in just days. Marine archeology is just now uncovering the Seven Pagodas off the Indian coast at Mahablipuram. Each former seaside temple was inundated by successive ocean rises over the last 15,000 years. During recorded history, the Flandrian Transgression, approximately 5500 years ago, caused a short-lived sea level rise of one to two meters. There is NO evidence that any of these undisputed historic changes in sea level were caused by human activity, but the Noah flood myth still has psychological value, if morphed to the warmist religion.

Care and Breeding of Eco-zealots

Even the most hardened ‘bible and gun clinger’ does not like to witness the starter pistol armed zealot being martyred at the ‘Discover’ temple. This eco-zealot misused weapons and his religion, in his case green Earth worship. Too gullible to balance the propaganda, he made a short, tragic headline and a powerful warning to others. Science demands that you remain open to other viewpoints and alternative evidence. You must always be prepared to admit failure and CHANGE your mind. The October issue of ‘Popular Science’ has a disturbing editorial by Mark Jannot which demonstrates that he is a bad editor, a bad scientist and a bad parent.
“During a recent family drive out of town, my 13 year-old son, Rex, launched into a diatribe from the backseat, blasting the environmental myopia of every lone driver spewing unnecessary CO2 behind the wheel of a hulking SUV. (He actually wanted me to bump them off the road)….Don’t they realize that if this keeps up, Manhattan is going to be under water before long?”
Did the editor-dad ever tell his little James Lee wannabe that the majority of science no longer supports global warming? Or that for 370 years science ‘denied’ the possibility of the continents drifting before they finally agreed on plate tectonics? This same issue of ‘Popular Science’ has full page articles on electric car chargers, genetically modified green hogs, rising seas, overpopulation, desertification, pollution, end of the world ‘Terra Vivos’ disaster housing and dream green housing. As always, ‘Popular Science’ never has a single word from a warming denier. No doubt that young Rex Jannot is not receiving any better balance of science than the unfortunate readers of his dad’s magazine. There is a cover article on ‘A New Take on Gravity’ where several claimed physicists speculate that gravity need not conform to Newton and Einstein, but should have abrupt end points to aid the big bang hypothesis. Another said “gravity is not a force at all, but rather an emerging condition”. The November issue promises a cover story of flooded Manhattan with “comfortable housing pods suspended over flooded Midtown streets.” I’ve been an on-off subscriber to ‘Popular Science’ for thirty years. Renewing a subscription after forgetting this magazine is far more ‘Pop’ than ‘Science’. The publisher, Bonnier, is a family owned company and it could be that nepotism is the guiding principle of management. Regardless, the current editor has proven that he is unfit for this position and his magazine is unfit for reading. We may hope that his young son does not act out his aggression against carbon emitters or seek direct proof on the ‘emerging’ condition of gravity from a high place. You might send Mark.Jannot your thoughts at BonnierCorp.com.
