Freedom Of Speech vs U.K. House Of Commons, Government Told To Stick It

I'll admit that I’m not a real follower of Russell Brand. For those of you that aren’t either, Brand is an English Comedian, actor, and writer, that In recent years has become more of an activist. He has a very flamboyant style that has garnered him three British Comedy Awards and a nomination for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award.

Last week, the Sunday Times, that’s owned by Rupert Murdoch, put out a story on Brand accusing him of rape and sexual assault 20 years ago. Brand has denied the allegations and that’s all it took for the cancel culture to fly into full swing. Leftists were crawling out of the woodwork to take their shot, including Google’s YouTube that criticized him, and blocked him from monetizing videos on their political platform.

Unprecedented open display of government arrogance

Just because something is typical, doesn’t make it any less disturbing. This is a textbook reaction from the left. These charges are unsubstantiated, but they still can’t wait to grab their pitchforks and torches and disparage the person in their sights. Compare that to their nonchalant attitude towards the mountain of evidence against both Hunter and Joe Biden. Here we have the President of the United States and his son committing major crimes, and there is no outrage from the left. In fact, they are constantly creating diversions to keep the well-deserved heat off of Mutt and Jeff Biden.

Then in an unprecedented open display of government arrogance, the British House of Commons sent a letter to Rumble encouraging, or more correctly put, imploring Rumble to shut down Brand on their platform just as YouTube had. What makes this attempt by the British government to interfere in an unsubstantiated case so disturbing, is the blatant and open display of interference. In my mind, there is no doubt that our government influenced the YouTube decision, but they were much more clandestine in their approach. They would never do something as traceable as writing a letter.

Rumble’s response is not only refreshing, but necessary in that sense

Fortunately, Rumble CEO Chris Pavloski, was having none of it. Which is rare in today’s climate. Far too often both sides of a story aren’t allowed to be heard when conservative or anti-woke opinions are involved. Rumble’s response is not only refreshing, but necessary in that sense.

Now, Rumble finds itself in the eye of the storm, enduring what has become a global smear campaign. What does it say about a society when by simply standing up for someone that should be considered innocent until proven guilty, they become victims. 

Whether Brand is guilty of this charge or not, there is no room for government interference on any type of media platform. This is a blatant attempt to interfere with the judicial system by applying one sided bias, without allowing a rebuttal voice.

The world has become a dangerous and subversive place. It becomes clearer every day that a group of elitists intend to control our minds by any means necessary. 

Perhaps Edgar Allen Poe was correct when he wrote “Believe half of what you see, and nothing that you hear.” Especially when you’re only hearing half of the story.
