Freeman Farm is Hot Off the PressesFreeman Farm--LifeRich Publishing

Canada Free Press has graciously offered this space to promote my new book. Thank you CFP! My novel titled Freeman Farm has just been published. It's a homestead novel that follows the cycle of the seasons over a year's time in the north woods of Minnesota. The major characters show readers what life might be like in a homestead setting of one's own choosing. There are reasons to believe this kind of story is desperately needed these days. With all the concern about pandemics, crime, urban decay, and political rancor, people need to know there are choices. For everyone who ever wished for a better grounded lifestyle or remembers the simpler times of our ancestors, Freeman Farm is an up-to-date look at how one family and friends pulled it off. It's fiction, but I put into it much of what I learned over the past 40+ years of homesteading five times in two states. Freeman Farm is family friendly and down to earth. Perhaps you'll find it uplifting, or even inspiring. With luck, maybe you'll see some humor here and there, too. With the best of luck, perhaps you'd recommend it to others. And here is where I need your help.

Freeman Farm is family friendly and down to earth

Although homesteading and simpler living is on many peoples' minds these days, it isn't on the minds of many publishers. This isn't considered a trendy or 'woke' topic. For that reason, I had little choice but to publish it myself. I've done this through LifeRich Publishing, a division of Readers Digest. It took me several years to write it, and another year to polish it for publication. I had lots of help along the way with suggestions and editing. It came out in August, 2022. It's ready and out there. The publisher makes the book available, but does very little promotion, and that's what I need now. Here's what would really help. 1. Order the book from LifeRich Publishing. It’s available in both hardback and paperback, and order either one, but for my own purposes the paperback is the way to go and it costs way less. It can be ordered anywhere, but I make just a little bit more if the order goes directly to LifeRich. 2. When you read it, please consider posting a review to LifeRich, to Amazon, to Goodreads, or to any websites you frequent which allow reviews. 3. If you're part of a reading club or group of friends, consider recommending it for a future meeting. I'd be happy to help with this by offering to be present in person or via Zoom, etc., with discussions online, or in any way I can be of service. If I can manage it, I'll make personal appearances. 4. Please talk up and promote the book on any social media you may use. I'm not on social media myself, but please direct any interest to my blog and ask them to join. The blog is Inkwell, Hearth, and Plow. Here is the link. Inkwell, Hearth and Plow I'd like to talk and discuss with people there. Send your questions and suggestions and criticisms to me here. Criticisms and things you don’t like about a book are very helpful for any writer. I welcome these. 5. Word of mouth is the best advertising. Any time you can ask what people are reading and suggest Freeman Farm, it would be very helpful. We know something about the people we see on a regular basis. Anyone who knows or aspires to the rural life, or who wishes to be better connected to the seasons and our sources of food could find this worthwhile. Homeschool families and anyone who reads or who wishes to encourage reading will find this easy going. Anyone who values family and traditional American values will find a comfortable place in these pages. 6. If you are a fan of Kindle, Kobo, Nook, Calibre, Freda, Sumatra, or any other ebook reader, please talk it up there. The ebook is available for $5.99, a considerable savings if you're connected that way. 7. Send contact information to me to reach out to others. I'd be happy to have email info or snail mail addresses. I'll have hard copy promotional cards and bookmarks to send out soon. If you wish to send email addresses, please add them in the body of your email to me and be sure to tell me why you're sending them to me. I won't pass them along to anyone. Happy reading in the world of Freeman Farm. I look forward to hearing from you. P.S. There are other books in the process of creation. Stay tuned!
