Does it make any sense re-electing any President who continuously mirrors those with failed foreign policy initiatives? Does it make any sense in re-electing President Obama?

From Truman to Obama, Democrats fail in US foreign policy

Foreign policy is the essential system of systems to ensure a nation’s survivability. A very clear pattern exists when it comes to the last six Presidents aligned with the Democratic Party. Each one of them led disastrous missions leaving many persons killed proving foreign policy blunders.
President Truman (1945-1953) led America into our first war in which we lost—Korea. He did his best to prevent Korea from turning into a complete nightmare by requesting a naval blockade in the region. That request could not be met however due to extraordinary budget cuts in the defense budget which he approved. Those budget cuts could arguably be construed as the culprit behind the ultimate disaster which the Korean War later became. America’s first Irish American Catholic President, John F. Kennedy (1961-1963), was surrounded with controversy even though some people continue to claim Kennedy as one of America’s best Presidents. When it comes to his foreign policy, Kennedy was just another failure. Many people died under Kennedy’s watch during the Bay of Pigs. That wasn’t the real problem though; it was how they were either killed or captured—The US refused air support to cover their maneuvers which allowed the Cuban government to have a field day on a US sponsored covert mission. Not only was the Bay of Pigs an absolute failure, President Kennedy also paid Cuba over $50 million dollars after the fiasco—an absolute sign of US Foreign Policy weakness.

The Great Society which was a Lyndon B. Johnson (1963-1969) initiative could actually be argued as the culprit behind today’s American socialist platform. But that has little to do with his utter foreign policy debacle. Johnson was a foreign policy nightmare. Johnson’s “Domino” and “Containment” theories proved utter failures during the Vietnam War. Vietnam was, until recently, considered America’s longest war. Johnson is noted as once saying, “If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America.” His statement proves he was more concerned about his reputation than American service members lives. But Johnson was not the only Democrat President caring more about reputation versus American lives abroad. Jimmy Carter (1977-1981) allowed the crippling of US Intelligence during the Church and Pike Committees in an attempt to appease the American people. He is often considered America’s worst President and his foreign policy could easily be argued as the most horrific foreign policy in American history. Carter supported Palestinian initiatives and still does today—a complete slap in the face for our greatest Middle Eastern ally, Israel. But Carter’s weakness in supporting a known terrorist machine also led to one of America’s most disastrous crises—the Iran Hostage Crisis. Lasting over 14 months, the crisis finally ended when Republican President Ronald Reagan took over as America’s Commander-in-Chief. Carter oversaw a military rescue operation during the Iran Hostage Crisis which turned out to be disastrous—Operation Eagle Claw. Operation Eagle claw witnessed 8 American service members killed, 4 wounded, the complete loss of 2 aircraft, and 5 helicopters abandoned. Operation Eagle Claw was a devastating blow to the US Special Operations Community. Bill Clinton (1993-2001) also endured a similar catastrophe within the US Special Operations community. The Battle of Mogadishu lost 2 helicopters, 18 US service members, 73 wounded, and one captured. One of the main reasons for this tragedy was due to a failure to provide air coverage for US ground forces. Failures in providing adequate air coverage for US operations abroad haunts us today. As recent events in Benghazi continue to become known, it appears that the Obama administration failed in providing adequate support for US personnel during a seven hour fight for their lives. Such support could have saved the lives of at least one US Ambassador and three additional Americans but as we know, these heroic patriots are no longer with us today. President Obama recently endured his own Bay of Pigs and Battle of Mogadishu in Benghazi. His theory in war, fighting America’s longest war, Afghanistan, closely resembles that of Lyndon B. Johnson. The threat of defense budget cuts will likely haunt us as it did President Truman. His continued support for Islamic terrorists during the Arab Spring is as alarming as Jimmy Carter’s support for Palestinians and Hamas. It is apparent the current US Commander-in-Chief has become a mix of multiple Democrat Presidents when it comes to his foreign policy—all of which were disastrous. Does it make any sense re-electing any President who continuously mirrors those with failed foreign policy initiatives? Does it make any sense in re-electing President Obama?
