Fulton County Polling Sites Evacuated After Bomb Threats

Two polling sites in Fulton County were briefly evacuated Tuesday morning after receiving bomb threats. According to Nadine Williams, Fulton County’s Director of Registration and Elections, five polling stations in total were targeted. While authorities deemed the threats non-credible, the Etris-Darnell Community Center and C.H. Gullatt Elementary School were evacuated for about half an hour. Both sites have since reopened and resumed normal operations.

Williams says the county is now pursuing a court order to extend voting hours at these two locations past the standard 7 PM statewide deadline to make up for the interruption. ---More...
