Gay activists destroy another dissenter as Mozilla ousts its CEO

People who are advocating a righteous cause do not seek to silence all dissent and destroy those who dare to disagree. They let the truth of their position speak for itself, and they don't fear those who mistakenly fail to see the virtue of their position.
Who seeks to destroy dissenters? Those who know their positions cannot survive fair and open scrutiny, because they are neither righteous nor honest. Some of you don't like it when the tyrants of history are brought up in debate. But sometimes these references are relevant, because they teach us what happens when people who attain the power to destroy their adversaries are permitted to do so. This brings us to Brandon Eich, who has now been ousted as CEO of Mozilla because, six years ago, he contributed $1,000 in support of a California ballot proposal that sought successfully to keep the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman. In so doing, Eich agreed with the majority of Californians who voted at that time merely to maintain the status quo that had existed since time immemorial.

Now, six years later, a dating web site called OkCupid dredged up the record of Eich's contribution, and urged its users not to access the site via Mozilla Firefox. From there, it took only days for Eich to be forced to resign. CBS New York reports:
In joining the protest Tuesday, OKCupid told Firefox users in part: “If individuals like Mr. Eich had their way, then roughly 8 percent of the relationships we’ve worked so hard to bring about would be illegal. Equality for gay relationships is personally important to many of us here at OkCupid. But it’s professionally important to the entire company. OkCupid is for creating love. Those who seek to deny love and instead enforce misery, shame, and frustration are our enemies, and we wish them nothing but failure.”
Bolshevik. OkCupid is creating fascism, not love. The essence of fascism is the stifling of dissent. You might argue that the term doesn't apply here because the power of government isn't the driving force behind it. I would tell you that's irrelvant. The tactics of fascism are the same regardless of who is weilding the power. What matters is that they have the power and are willing to use it, and right now gay marriage activists have the power because they are able to scare the bejeezus out of just about everyone. Look how the chairman of Mozilla groveled in the aftermath of Eich's sudden ouster:
On Thursday, Mozilla executive chairwoman Mitchell Baker said it had been caught off guard by the backlash it received over Eich’s promotion, CBS San Francisco reported. “We didn’t act like you’d expect Mozilla to act. We didn’t move fast enough to engage with people once the controversy started. We’re sorry. We must do better,” Baker said in a blog post. “Brendan Eich has chosen to step down from his role as CEO. He’s made this decision for Mozilla and our community.” The blog post continued: “Mozilla believes both in equality and freedom of speech. Equality is necessary for meaningful speech. And you need free speech to fight for equality. Figuring out how to stand for both at the same time can be hard.”
That is an astonishing statement. What Baker is saying is that free speech is an enemy of "equality." Otherwise he would not be suggesting that there is any difficulty in standing for both. This has never been a problem throughout the history of this nation. We have always accepted that people have the right to air dissenting views, and legally we have protected those views, because the right of the majority to rule does not in any way obviate the right of a minority to have its say. The gay rights movement does not want to allow free speech if it means anyone can raise doubts about their cause. Why? Because the points raised in dissent are compelling. They are generally based on biblical principles that the people of God will never abandon no matter how much the secular world tries to argue them into doing so. That means they only acceptable situation is to have no dissent and no discussion. As President Obama might say, "The debate is over." And just to make sure you get the message, they won't just try to silence you today. They'll go back through your history and find out if you've spoken up in the past, and punish you for that - maybe by putting pressure on your employer to take away your job. Or maybe they will conscript the power of government, forcing you to provide them services that your faith would suggest you should not provide. This movement is evil, not because homosexuality is a "worse sin" than other sins, but because its champions are trying to not only silence but in many cases destroy those who disagree with them. The gay movement understands something. They understand that in order for their movement to ultimately succeed, they need to turn the entire culture into a mindless army of obedient adherents like the Borg on Star Trek. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile. And no one acts this way when their cause is righteous. They know they don't need to. They act this way when their cause is evil, and freedom of speech is their enemy because, ultimately, truth is their enemy. Over on my site, I take a look at this from a more theological perspective. I oppose gay marriage because homosexual sex is abhorrent in the eyes of God. You got a problem with that?
