Gentlemen’s Club or Street Gang

For the last 50 to 75 years, congressional Republicans have been playing “Beltway Bingo” too nicely on Capitol Hill. For all intents and purposes, the Republicans have been in a gun fight armed only with a knife.

Congress is not a gentlemen’s club anymore

For most of these last 75 years, the closet socialists in the Democrat Party have ben shoving America further and further to the left, and the feckless Republican Party has failed to push back to a point where the Democrats are now openly confident and public about their socialistic/communistic intentions for America.

In the 1950s, Nikita Khrushchev told America exactly what was needed to conquer America. All that was needed was to take over the American education system and train (brainwash) the children. The closet communists did, in fact, do exactly that even though it took 50 years. The good news is that the communist foothold on public education is strongest only in the blue states and cities. Rural areas in blue states and red states have not fully succumbed to the communist mantra. However, most colleges went down to communism early on. America now has at least one generation that was taught false American history and they now believe that the free market, free enterprise system is bad and socialism is good. My evidence: the mayors elect in New York City and Seattle.

Congress has demonstrated certain forms of questionable ethics since the turn of the last century. However, during the Clinton administration, it seems that all the moral sideboards began to collapse, and by the beginning of the current century, Congress turned into a criminal enterprise and in just a couple of years a congress person can turn from a pauper to a millionaire. The members of the socialist Democrat Party are particularly adept at those “skills.” That is not to say Republican Party members have clean skirts. The bottom line is that Congress is not a gentlemen’s club anymore.

Earth-shattering event for the “Beltway Bandits” of the government establishment

When Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Trump’s MAGA gang hit the ground running on January 20, 2025, it was an earth-shattering event for the “Beltway Bandits” of the government establishment. On that day, fear struck the hearts of federal government officials, both elected and appointed. President Trump and DOGE demonstrated that government corruption was the number one target for Trump 2.0 and his administration. In my humble opinion, the fear demonstrates the reason that so many in Congress are choosing not to run for re-election in 2026. These congressional runaways are hoping to be overlooked when the corruption microscope is focused on potential congressional corruption. However, this does provide American voters with the opportunity to send new, honest representatives to Congress, who will represent them and not simply their own self-interests.

Since 1975, the Republicans have allowed the Democrats to bully them into doing things contrary to good conservative principles. The one currently under discussion is the disaster known as “Obamacare,” you remember the one “San Fran Nan” (Nancy Pelosi) bullied Republicans, saying: “We need to pass it so we can see what’s in it.” Here we are in 2025, and Republicans may very well rollover and play dead a second time on Obamacare. I can only hope President Trump will veto that monstrosity, if it gets to his desk.

The only way to stop a bully is to punch him/her square on the nose. I hope that Republicans will say “no” to any extension of any part of Obamacare and let the socialist Democrats die, politically, on that hill. If they decide to shut down government, fear not; Americans will always support elected officials when they do the right thing. President Trump is proving my point every day. Most Americans want out of anything approaching socialism or communism. American patriots have recognized that socialist/communists can not be reasoned with and only understand brute power and those are the rules both sides of the aisle must use in Congress, otherwise Republicans are wearing boxing gloves in a bare knuckles fight.

I can only hope and pray the ladies and gentlemen in Congress are up to the task.
