“The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don't do anything about it.” Albert Einstein The United Nations must go! However, before I begin my diatribe on the stupidity, ignorance and sheer audacity that is the United Nations, I must begin by telling our readers that writing the postcards has been a cathartic exercise. Many thoughts about upsetting events that plague one in the wee small hours of the morning are lightened through the very process of the sharing.

I do not in any way take for granted the readers’ importance in this written conversation and deem it a privilege to share thoughts and information. Therefore, I offer an apology. I incorrectly stated it was Canada who insisted on passports from the United States. In actuality, the U.S. initiated the policy to enter America. Although some misinterpreted my attempt to disagree tongue in cheek with Robert Frost’s interpretation of fences, I am well aware of his belief “Something there is that doesn’t love a wall.” I disagree, and the object was to provide my opinion, agree or disagree as one wishes. He also wrote the poem before homicide bombers, Islamic terrorists and airplanes flying into the World Trade Center, so perhaps his attitude, although admirable, isn’t terribly realistic in light of our presently insane world. This is another of those lingering, disturbing issues addressed in those wee small hours. Not the subject of this postcard. This is. On to an issue that has me up all night, many nights. My anger and outrage at the sheer racism and indifference disseminated by the United Nations. American willingness to support and fund such a useless excuse for a money sucking, hate-mongering body makes me furious, and now let me tell you how I really feel! According to the betterworldCampaign.org, United States debt to the United Nations, in both the regular and peacekeeping budgets, exceeded $1.5 billion at the start of 2009. By far, the largest amount of debt is for peacekeeping, which is more than $1.3 billion. These arrears make the United States the largest debtor to the United Nations and threaten its ability to leverage the international community toward achieving key U.S. national security priorities. Two questions come to mind. How can we pay them when we’re broke and how is that peacekeeping money working for us? I just know Kim Jong Il is shaking in his little booties. There is also a diversity of opinions on the benefits of a UN presence to New Yorkers. Because opinions and statistics vary so much, it is impossible to discern how much New York gains or loses each year. The abundance of contradictory information available about UN accountability provides little comfort to those who seek truthful answers. A Gallup Poll in February of 2009 found for the seventh straight year, about six in ten Americans— now 65%— say the United Nations is doing a poor job of solving the problems under its care. Only 26% believe it is doing a good job, technically the worst job rating for the United Nations since Gallup began polling on the subject in 1953. So, what can we do? Here are a few thoughts and those who agree or disagree, I’d love to hear from you all. Donald Trump should purchase the property upon which the UN sits and turn it into luxury condos for the small handful of rich people that will be left in America after this administration leaves office. The buffoons on Capital Hill should pass a bill they actually read, ending UN funding and instead funnel the money to feed and provide medical care for poor children in developing nations. Approximately 25,000 children die each day of starvation while they are busy telling Israel to tear down a wall that provides safety from terror for Israeli and Arab children. Yes, Arabs and Jews do live side-by-side and work and exist in peace despite the propaganda. Use United Nations money to subsidize American families who cannot afford health care. Odd the geniuses in Congress couldn’t think of this one on their own? The City of New York should pass an ordinance stating any diplomat who double parks a car and has any outstanding parking tickets will have the car confiscated and sold to pay the fines. The extra money goes to the City. The United States should pass a bill that all diplomatic status will be revoked to nations who stone, murder and rape women and children, and employ killing as a national pastime. No more facilitating a prime table at Le Cirque. These are only a few of the dreams I have. I can’t contain my outrage when I see a movie like The Stoning of Soroya M and the mainstream media ignores and disregards its anti-Islamic message. Who are we as a country? Are we already under Sharia law? Did I miss something here while Gloria Steinham and Hillary Clinton were asleep at the wheel? Where is the outrage of the feministas who march in horror at the thought of an end to Roe v Wade as their sisters fight for their lives throughout the middle east? These women’s libbers are mute! Sense? Where, how? Women with visibility must be vocal in their outrage. They must stand for their sisters who have no voice. By their very silence they are participants in the evil. It’s beyond comprehension. Where is the long overdue Lipstick Revolution? Anyone hear from the Pope lately? The United Nations? I hear so many say, “it’s too late. The country is doomed. We will be broke. We will be socialist and the greatness that was America has passed.” No. I say we still have the power as long as we retain a single vote. Call Congress. Our elected representatives respond to numbers, because in their minds numbers equal votes. At the end of the day they only care about one thing: (raising money and) getting reelected, and we are the ones with the power to do so. Let’s begin by speaking out. Stop funding racist organizations and allowing them to live like kings on our money on prime New York real estate. We must remember when we stop working on America; America stops working. I know it’s time for us all to get back to work.
