A consistent majority of Americans do not want the Reid/Obama healthcare takeover to pass

Getting Rid of Harry Reid

Every poll, including those requested by the Democrats, indicate that a consistent majority of Americans do not want the Reid/Obama healthcare takeover to pass. I imagine that, if a more specific poll were to be put forth, they don’t even want it to come out of committee.

True to his track record, Harry Reid is pushing ahead with the most diabolically liberal of the bills, the one that contains all the bells and whistles including state-funded partial birth abortion, the so-called death panels, the elimination of Medicare and so on. He is doing this in spite of what the effort is doing to his reelection chances in Nevada. Based on the latest state poll Reid would lose regardless of which Republican is put up against him in 2010. So why does Harry continue to push his Marxist agenda? One reason is that all “good” Democrats are never left without a golden parachute. If you do as you’re told you are taken care of by the party, even if you lose and even if you go to jail.. Here in Nevada two prominent liberals were sent to the orange jumpsuit academy. Dario Herrera, an ex-county commissioner was convicted of accepting so many bribes he had his hand out more times than a valet attendant. Coming out of prison, he gets a very tasty account executive position with a supposedly environmentally friendly printing firm. Erin Kenny, also convicted in the same strip club sting that collared Herrera, failed to pass the bar but managed to land a cushy consultant position with Nevada’s shadiest developer. Tessa Hafen, daughter of a long term Henderson Democrat ran for Congress and then moved into a very well paying lobbyist assignment. What do think Harry will get? The only Democrats left hanging by the party were those who had the bad grace to listen to their constituents and vote the peoples will. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut is a prime example. The Democrats kicked him out because he had the courage of his convictions. Locally, Rosemary Womack, a Nevada Assemblywoman received much the same treatment by the Nevada Democrat Party because she insisted on actually representing those who voted her into office. Harry Reid will not suffer financially if he is kicked out of the Senate by the voters. He has and is doing exactly what those who run the party want done, work to destroy the US economy and weaken us militarily. You think not? Look at who was enriched by the so-called stimulus package. I don’t know about you, but I cannot count one small business that benefited. I cannot count one middle income or low income individual whose circumstance has changed for the better. The massive amounts of jobs that the Democrats claim to have created seem to have only happened within the ever-expanding bureaucracy of Washington and nowhere else. In spite of Harry Reid’s campaign ads, the City Center project was actually kept going by the Herculean efforts of its board, not an out of touch politician, and the poll numbers indicate that the voters are not being fooled. My last column detailed the part Harry and his boy had in preventing a USO from being installed into Las Vegas’ McCarran Airport. Before you cast your vote for any political office, consider the candidate. Ask yourself a few pertinent questions; questions no incumbent except for the very rare few want asked: what have they actually done to help my city, state and country? Have they helped to keep small business going? Have they raised or lowered my standard of living? And the big one; am I better off than I was before they entered office? In 2010 we have again a unique opportunity. We have the possibility of changing our government for the better without resorting to revolution. We have the opportunity to put into power real representation and not just another party puppet to replace the ones already performing for their masters. Bear in mind, if the party heads get wind that something is up, they will attempt to derail the process. This happened during the last election cycle at the Republican State Convention. Ron Paul had won the majority of delegates in spite of the State Party’s promise to McCain. Sue Lowden, the then party chairwoman forced my younger namesake, State Senator Bob Beers to end the convention before a vote could be taken. If you don’t believe me there are several YouTube postings for your viewing pleasure. It isn’t just the GOP that needs changing. Not by a long shot. The Donkey Party has far more than its share of corruption. In fact, they seem to be of the belief that the law simply does not apply to them. While my younger namesake was being forced to violate state and federal law, across the street (so to speak), the Democrats were signing up dozens, if not hundreds of Latino illegals to vote. One of my supporters had volunteered to change her registration in order to be admitted to the Dems’ convention for the purpose of spying. I know, sneaky and underhanded. If you don’t like it, stay within the law. I have been told, by members of my own party, mind you, that we cannot afford honest politicians. They claimed that actually upholding the law; forcing government and business to be completely honest could bankrupt not just the state, but the entire country. I disagree. Our constitution produced the most progressive, powerful and prosperous country this world has ever seen. We got into trouble by letting those principles slide. We got into trouble by putting corruption into power and punishing integrity. It is time for real change, not the placebo offered up by Harry Reid and Puppet Obama.
