Murphy, North Carolina: High Noon Impeach Obama rally

Grassroots Gravitas

A funny thing happened this Saturday, in the small town of Murphy, in the mountains of western North Carolina. Without marching orders or bags of money from the Republican Party, or Karl Rove, or Dick Cheney, or Rush Limbaugh, a bunch of ordinary folks got together, got a permit from the town, and held a rally to…GASP!...impeach Obama. Sort of a celebration of the Fourth of July and the First Amendment, rolled into one (Video 1 and Video 2).

We have reached a point where half-measures and polite criticism are simply a waste of time, and play into the hands of the radical leftists who have been running our government for the past year-and-a-half. Each passing day brings a new attack on the Constitution, liberty, private property, capitalism, and our republican form of government. And while it may not be possible to round up ALL the treasonous criminals involved in this unholy cabal, it can be brought up short: when you cut off the head of a snake, though the body still writhes, it can no longer do much damage. There can be no doubt that, incredible (and clearly, often intended) incompetence is Obama’s hallmark. However, his narcissistic arrogance has led him to commit felonies: the offer of jobs to Bart Sestak, in Pennsylvania, and Andrew Romanoff, in Colorado, to drop out their senate primary races is a clear violation of the Hatch Act. It makes absolutely zero difference if this is “common practice” or “politics as usual”; it is a felony. Period. And maybe I’m just being a picky whiner, but it seems to me that the President should be held to the highest of standards. So, as we watch what was merely a recession be turned into a major depression, and our treasury looted with the excuse that somehow stealing the public’s money and giving it to Big Financial Institutions and political cronies is good for the country, and eight million jobs destroyed, and half the economy nationalized in a manner that makes Hugo Chavez look like an amateur, and our border left wide open to criminals and terrorists, and they want to make 12 million of these criminals voters, and a major oil spill allowed to turn into an unmitigated disaster, we might be forgiven if we ask, “What the hell is going on here?” I seriously doubt this is the “hope and change” most of the liberals who voted for Obama were thinking of. The folks in Murphy have said, “We’ve had enough!” They took to the streets, sharing with their neighbors and visiting tourists that we need to impeach the apparent leader of this lawless rampage as a first step in damage control. We may not be able to do much beyond raising awareness and keeping people active and involved until November, but by then we want this to be the first order of business of the new conservative majority in Congress. I want to encourage others across the country to start a rally in your town. We call ours the High Noon IMPEACH OBAMA Rally: held every Saturday (until he’s gone!) at noon, in the town square. We are starting with ½ hour, which shouldn’t interfere with anyone’s busy schedule (the most common excuse for doing nothing), but may extend it if there are folks who want to go longer. It can be held anywhere, too, that you can get a permit for, like on the public sidewalks or highway right-of-way next to the Wal-mart, or City Hall. Get creative, but get active. Our country and our way of life is in mortal danger, and we have not a moment to lose.
