Hamed Omidi has been transferred to Section 209 of the Evin Prison in Tehran, Iran

Mr. Hamed Omidi a student and a human rights activist who is majoring in Technology at the “Alameh Tabatabi” University in Tehran was arrested last Wednesday, February 17th 2010.

He was transferred to Section 209 of the Evin Prison which is under the direct control of the Ministry of the Intelligence on Sunday February 21st 2010. Mr. Omidi was arrested by security forces in the bus station, in the city of Tekab, while he was trying to travel back to Tehran to attend university. Currently there is no news about his health and well being and the authorities have refused to give any information to his family.
