The President signed a bill into law just before Halloween, an appropriate date for this law. The expanded federal hate crimes law, hailed by supporters as the first major federal gay rights legislation, was added to a $680 billion defense authorization bill because if offered up on its own merits the bill would have never made it past the Senate.
Back in the spring when the bill was being debated in the house, Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) admitted that this so-called "hate crimes" bill will protect the 30 mostly bizarre sexual orientations listed by the American Psychiatric Association...including the one championed by Obama’s own “Safe Schools Czar”, pedophilia.
You think I’m adding words to his mouth? You think I’m spreading hackneyed right-wing slippery slope nonsense? Here is Hastings' transcript from the Congressional Record, April 29, 2009:
“We had an amendment offered by one of our colleagues to this particular legislation. I guess it was done in a creative fashion, and certainly the author of it did spend some time looking in the dictionary or creating new terms. And I apologize to our transcriber, but I am going to put in the Record what we have to put up with in the Rules Committee.
"The term sexual orientation," this proposed amendment said, "as used in this act, or any amendments made by this act, does not include apotemnophilia, asphyxophilia, autogynephilia, coprophilia, exhibitionism, fetishism, frotteurism, gerontosexuality, incest, kleptophilia, klismaphilia, necrophilia, partialism, pedophilia, sexual masochism, sexual sadism, telephone scatalogia, toucherism, transgenderism, transsexual, transvestite, transvestic fetishism, urophilia, voyeurism, or zoophilia."...”
Take a close look at that list. The left is currently throwing their arms out of joint patting themselves on the back because about the only group not protected is the hated faithful-to-their-spouse-heterosexual.

As a father I would have hoped that Obama would want this nation to protect children. I guess even that is too much to expect from our Radical in Chief. He is so driven by his agenda that he once told a group of Republicans that he would be satisfied to be a one term President if he accomplished his goal, which is to turn the US into a socialist European-style union. This bill, if one extrapolates how the Washington bureaucracy has treated every other far-reaching rights law, will make it illegal for any parent to use force in the protection of their child. It could even go as far as tacitly making illegal any spoken or printed opposition to groups such as NAMBLA. You think I’m kidding?

Under so-called Hate Crimes laws Christians are considered a danger to society and any activity outside of a closed room is to be beaten down. That is unless you think 11 people being jailed for expressing a nonviolent religious view is something that should be going on in the US.
Obama has signed the bill. Once the kinks are worked out within the bureaucracy get ready to become silent. The First Amendment has had a portion excised.
