Hey Deplorables, Hillary's list of pet names has expanded! Bernie fans are now basement dwelling millennials

Progressives love nothing more than to whine, moan, and carp about anyone who paints a segment of the electorate with a broad brush. Hillary Clinton would probably argue that people who do so are the very worst sorts of bottom feeders. She's made it clear that nothing in modern politics is as grotesque, despicable, and distasteful as a person who would dare generalize when discussing the American electorate. ...But Hillary loves to project. So, of course, she has a nasty habit of turning around and doing precisely that. You're obviously already aware that she's lumped Trump supporters into what she likes to call "a basket of deplorables." If you're willing to vote for Trump, even if (or perhaps especially if) you're only doing it to stop her, you're a racist, misogynist, xenophobe. There's no room here for nuance. Hillary has labeled you. Accept your label.

Lest you think that only Trump voters have earned a place on Hillary's growing list of those who've earned her rancor, she has a few choice words for Bernie Sanders supporters as well. According to Queen Clinton, Bernie fans are impoverished children who live in their parents' basement. They haven't got much going for them, and the poor little dears desperately want to feel that they're part of something. They've latched on to Sanders because they don't understand how the world really works. Not only is this stereotype arrogant and condescending, it's also ageist - since it ignores the fact that a great many Sanders supporters are middle-aged Marxists or geriatric hippies.

In case you didn't hear that, Bernie says "of course" Hillary's rhetoric bothers him. That's a real shame, and it might actually mean something if he hadn't sold his soul, and endorsement, to the devil. It's hard to feign outrage when you call Hillary "unqualified for the presidency" one day, and the woman who "must become President" a few days later. If you're hoping that this latest insult will make Bernie's former supporters think twice about voting for Clinton, you can think again. What I wrote in July still stands:

Remember, the left only has one real belief: Anything that expands the size of the federal government should be supported. As such, Bernie's decision is wholly unsurprising. Whatever else he may be, at his core he's a statist. He's had his fun, knows he can't win, and now it's time to line up behind the candidate he feels will do the most to limit your rights and grow the taxpayer-funded beast. ...And if you think his supporters will hold on to their values when he has abandoned them, you're dreaming. They'll line up like cattle at the slaughterhouse and moo their way to the lever marked "D."
